I’m not in the mood to get into a big argument about this but if the Israelis were the nazis of the middle east they would have given this guy a medal–not a prison term.

fair enough–and I know where THX stands on this we’ve beat each other up enough times on this sort of thing.

I will say this: under US law given the circumstances this might be murder but more likely manslaughter. The critical issue is whether Mr. Al-sharif was still a threat when he was killed. If not then yes its either murder or manslaughter and the soldier is in the wrong.

I do think the court made a mistake–if there is some legitimate question about whether Al-Sharif remained a threat then the soldier should have either been completely exonerated OR faced a stiffer sentence. In the US manslaughter is a 10-20 year sentence. This middle of the road decision really is a wuss out.

Israeli soldiers have been getting away with far worse than this over the years. Ever hear about the story of Palestinian children playing soccer on a beach in which the Israeli’s blew them up from a boat, re-targeted to get the kids that scattered, then blew them up as well??? Just happened a few years ago. An MSNBC reporter had just been playing with the kids. They pulled him from the region asap and he never told the story via MSNBC…

This s~~~ will never end without a two state solution, which the U.S. perpetually blocks with the power of veto in the U.N. Eternal military occupation and land theft and killing will never solve anything. And the thing that p~~~es me off the most is that my tax dollars pay for this s~~~.

I agree with Shiny, nobody in the US really cares. This fight has been going on for years, and I doubt it will ever end. When the British conquered that land from the Ottoman empire, they, in effect became the owners and had legal right to do with it as they please. Muslims were pushed out of their land, Jews were pushed out of their land as well. Throughout history people have been forced to move away from their homelands. Seems like religion is a major reason as to why. I also think the fact that the Jews haven’t been exterminated, after everything they’ve been through, gives merit to the statement “Jews are the chosen ones.”

I don’t practice a religion, and not here to argue with THX or Pete, just looking at this from a western view.

With everything that has been going on around the world with the Muslims, considering that Palestine is something like 90% Muslim, I can see why people don’t take their side in the conflict.

I do like seeing this from a different side and I appreciate your point of view THX.

There are a couple of problems here. Firstly, the “Jews” there now, or at least 80% or more of them have zero connection to the Jews there in Jesus’s days and before, and Muslims know this. It takes some research to understand this, and it is hidden because… wait for it… These “Jews” own just about all media, and have for a long time. This is partly why people in the West side with them as this is where they have the most influence. Wake me up when Muslims get a voice in mainstream news, movies, popular print… These very principals I speak of in praise of this site, where men get to say what they want uncensored is not transferred over in the real world in this situation. In fact, Muslims have been shut out of Hollywood and MSM full circle. So, it is no wonder people have a certain view of the situation, a one sided view that has been fed to them for decades. Let me know just how often a Palestinian is interviewed on MSM…

Tell me, why is there no movie about the creation of the great country of modern day Israel that we all blindly support? The answer is because they do not even want to try to spin it because it would start a conversation and the truth would come out. And the people in the U.S. should care, as their money funds this mess where only one side gets a voice to air their grievances.

How does one prosecute a non citizen? This is a 60 year long military occupation, illegal by U.N. charter. U.S. power of veto is in Israel’s pocket, so Palestinians can never even get Statehood. We block it eternally. This is what Israeli’s want. A long slow genocide and land theft that happens all the time.

Historically when a Palestinian kills an Israeli the Israeli’s extract the toll by killing hundreds or thousands Palestinians.

This happened in 2014 when a few Jewish boys went missing, the Israeli’s went into Gaza and killed 1500+, including women and children. If you get the info from a MSM source it will be called a war, when it was just retribution. A war is when two armies face each other…This is slaughter, and is what leads men, women, and children to crazy s~~~ like trying to kill Israelis who are armed with guns with a knife. 60 years of this… And, once again, it was the “Jews” who started all of this, they were all getting along fairly well before they took what they wanted by force, and still do to this day, on my f~~~ing dime.
