What an excellent website and resource this is. Great work by the admins, and the many contributors.
I found this website, and MGTOW in general, about eight months ago. I’ve been reading it daily since for the essential dose of red pills it provides to keep me strong.
Some key facts about me… middle aged professional. Been divorced once (3 year marriage), then common-law once (15 year cohabitation). No kids from any relations~~~.
I’ve got no problem with divulging that my divorce cost me around $20K in fees and property division settlement. Only because we were young, the marriage was short and we weren’t worth anything financially. The cohabitation on the other hand cost me $100K in alimony and legal fees to resolve. Would have been far worse off if “legally married”.
I paid more than some, and less than others. Some men have paid with everything they have.
Yes, young men: know that in todays society marriage and/or living together comes with EXTREME FINANCIAL RISK to the husband, less so to the wife.
I would say the pills I took in this life started blue, turned purple and are now bright red.
For me, the initial value in discovering “MGTOW” was to see that my fragmented observations about women were in fact widespread, and there was a lexicon which made everything make logical sense. In my experience, the “CC”, “the wall”, “the chameleon”, ‘hamstering” …. it is all so true. I have lived it, I can vouch for it and now I can articulate it.
The enduring value in my becoming MGTOW is that I am living out the freedom that comes with no longer being a pussy beggar. I see through women’s manipulations… I deal with women on MY terms. I live life MY way. I give priority to MY own desires. The people I let enter my life are a positive force, and I return my positivity to them.
I do not believe that to go my own way is to be utterly selfish, or heartless, or criminal. Or, for that matter, to check out of society. Whatever the whackjob SJWs screech — I believe men can find dignity and accomplishment in living up to their individual male abilities and potential. I believe most of us men find much fulfilment in exercising the best parts of our MALE NATURE when we constructively build on the legacy our forefathers left us. I believe the ultimate key to MY success as a MGTOW is to keep my motivations detached from capricious female approval.
A couple of final thoughts on why I “didn’t” join this site. I didn’t come here to force feed anyone red pills. Like Morpheus said, I believe that most men are “not ready to be unplugged.” To take strength when awoken is, however, different, and if I can provide that strength as you have done for me I will be doing a good thing.
I didn’t come here to bash women. I don’t hate women at large. But regrettably, engaging with women on anything beyond a superficial basis has become a social, legal and financial minefield. This won’t change in my time. The rational choice is to GO MY OWN WAY.
