Not my first post, and apologies for not doing an intro first, but here it is. Since I’m 53 it’s a long story, but I’ll try to keep it short.
I’m one of those guys that’s been around long enough to have basically “gone MGTOW” before I even knew what it was. Of course, I didn’t know what the hell I was doing, but after two divorces I knew I’d never put myself through that again.
The first marriage lasted 2 years, and I got out because she was simply a psycho. The second marriage ended after 8 years on Jan 1st, 2000. That morning I paddled my kayak out off the coast of San Diego and held a little burial at sea ceremony for my wedding band.
I wasn’t done with women at that point. I did a lot of catch and release for a long time, and at one point lived with another woman. That ended in 2010 with the realization that I was better off not just unmarried, but single. I was discovering reality, in effect taking the red pill.
Since then I’ve avoided getting tangled up in messy relationships and I operated in pump and dump mode. Life has definitely continued to improve ever since, though it has by no means been easy. Most men realize that life isn’t easy, and accept that fact. Yet, many of us have also come to realize that it doesn’t have to be excessively hard either. And what’s the best way to make your life much more difficult? Get married.
My second divorce had no kids involved, thank God. I kept my crappy old truck, clothes, and a POS guitar. She got everything else, including about $200K of equity in the house. This despite the fact that at that time she made more money than me. I had just retired from the Navy and was struggling to get my 2nd career on track.
The Great State of California had deemed her entitled to a portion of my military retirement. The only way I could avoid that was to give her everything. There was no way in hell I was going to send her money for the rest of my life. That was a good tradeoff in my mind, and it drove home the concept of gynocentrism.
The MGTOW community has been very instructive to me, and it’s good to see the message getting out that you do have a choice. I still get well-meaning friends and family suggesting I need a “good woman” in my life, but the facts are that (a) I don’t, and (b) I haven’t met a “good woman” that was single in a long time. Certainly not in my age group. Even if I did meet an apparent unicorn I wouldn’t take that plunge. As John at MGTOW is Freedom observed, unicorns have hooves to kick you with and a big spear on their head, so even unicorns are dangerous.
The fact is my life mine, and I like it that way. I work as a civilian consultant for kick-ass military guys, and I’ve been able to move around to advance in that career. Finances are better, my home is a peaceful refuge, and I’m able to pursue whatever is important to me. Couldn’t do that when I was married because I was too busy working at the job, and then working in a vain attempt to “make her happy”.
The red pill is an apt metaphor. I can see through bulls~~~ in a heartbeat now, and notice feminist propaganda everywhere. I can’t believe I didn’t see it sooner. And while it is disturbing, it’s also liberating. For me, one of the biggest benefits of MGTOW is the fact that it’s now exceedingly difficult for women to manipulate me. I won’t claim to be totally immune because I want to keep my guard up. But it’s always amusing to watch women get confused and frustrated when their usual tricks don’t work.
I appreciate all of the content on this site. It’s a part of my continuing education, and it’s quite entertaining as well. Thanks.

The gravy train is slowing down.
MGTOW is helping bring true equality. We leave no option but not to bring ourselves down to their level.
Go your own way brother. It’s about time.

Do you still drive a crappy old truck?Welcome MDW,
Great moves to be where you are and welcome to the community. Besides having lots of members who have made similar decisions, you will also find many former brothers in arms.
Look forward to hearing more soon.

Great Intro, Tom Sawyer. I lived in North County SD [Encinitas] for a decade, and did an internship at Balboa Navy Hospital. West Coast women are special entitled. Thanks for your military service, and welcome home. SMW.

“gone MGTOW” before I even knew what it was
Join the club brother.

Anonymous42Two marriages, live in’s, all the pump and dumps? I don’t know how so many men do it? I never got f~~~ed over for any of my s~~~ by a woman other than her snitching me out for a skid bid in jail while my apartment was being cleaned out by strangers, but that was only cloths, TV, a bunch of s~~~ I don’t remember.
Getting the boot from your own house? That’s what you get for being with a woman for more than 3 weeks to a month, after that I seriously think a man is taking foolish chances!
Now with disease A to Z? Like swimming in municipal sewer water!
Anonymous8Welcome to MGTOW Modern Day Warrior.
I have found your posts a pleasure to read, keep it up.
glad your here man.
you are one of the lucky few of us men who finally got to see the truth around us.
scary at times,
but the truth is what set’s you free!!The Great State of California had deemed her entitled to a portion of my military retirement.
I’m ex-military (never married) and retired so this is a sincere question.
When you got married while serving in the Navy, you knew that you could lose a chunk of your pension in a divorce. How were you able to reconcile this in your own mind? How much did the possibility of losing half of your military pension influence your decision to get married???
Actually, that law was passed after I was already married. And it wouldn’t have been half, because the marriage was only eight years. But still, I couldn’t see giving her anything. I’m the guy that earned it on deployments. This was back in the late early 90s.

I’m brand new here myself but just wanted to say I enjoyed your intro. See you on the boards!
Actually, that law was passed after I was already married.
So the law was retro-active? You’re saying that when you got married, the wife in a divorce couldn’t touch your pension???
Most men realize that life isn’t easy, and accept that fact. Yet, many of us have also come to realize that it doesn’t have to be excessively hard either.
Thankyou for saying this. Can seem such an obvious statement, but even I sometimes forget this. Yes, life can be hard, but you don’t have to make it that much harder jumping through hoops for a woman. Value your male sovereignty and life can not only be a hell of a lot easier, but fun too!
Even if I did meet an apparent unicorn I wouldn’t take that plunge. As John at MGTOW is Freedom observed, unicorns have hooves to kick you with and a big spear on their head, so even unicorns are dangerous.
Yep, even the mythical ‘good’ ones can give you a good kicking and leave you bloodied on the floor.
Welcome, and thanks for the great introduction.

So the law was retro-active? You’re saying that when you got married, the wife in a divorce couldn’t touch your pension???
At the time we got married getting part of my retirement would have been much harder. They then passed a law that basically made it automatic, even though we got married before the law was passed. This was a big issue in the military back then. They changed the rules.
