The Mayor of MGTOWN has ignited a flame of inspiration inside my heart that I can’t ignore. I’ve started a GoFundMe for the homeless men in the Houston area where I live. They’re everywhere, and though I feed them, I feel I could do much more. That video struck a positive chord in me to help these men. I suppose it hits close to home for me as I’ve been in their situation and can completely relate. Anyway, spread this link around!
Sounds good. Have you talked to the Mayor of MGTOWN about what he is doing? I am up for pooling these efforts to be able to get somewhere. A problem with just launching one of these, is that there is a lack of trust level built so that people will give in order to get things done. You may have the best of motives and be driven to act like that, but no one else really knows that. People on the Internet really don’t know you at all.
So, you are likely going to have to more groundwork laid before you can get anywhere with this. I did work on the non-profit area and looked into fundraising. It can a trick doing things. You may need to look into going a 501(c)3 route regarding this also.
Besides that, what you may do, is actually go out and do something, create a YouTube channel and film it, and say you were inspired by the Mayor. Maybe turn it into like an ice bucket challenge.

I did contact the Mayor and let him know about the impact he had on me, and how I hope it impacts other men, too. I’m hoping to get a video out (my first pro-male personal video) soon to further prove its legitimacy. I think it would be a great way to spread this around just like (as you said) the ice bucket challenge!
hello, i am from Colombia, i want know how créate entry on fórums. I want write things, i am some red pill.
I think what is going to need is that it is going to have to be a completely self-funded project where you do what the Mayor did. And it runs very autonomous and goes in its own direction. I do believe a more coordinated effort will be needed to be able to actually help homeless single men. My personal sensibilities rather not see that homeless men are turned into a viral meme of a one time help, and it go that way. The help needs to go deeper. And there is need for it, but such is going to require a bunch more.
For the larger effort, I suggest going with MGTOWN (I call it MGTOW Network) as a label for the supportive community for recovery effort. I threw around Galt’s Gulch in connection with this.

Good idea, homeless men need big time assist. If they could fend for themselves, then they would not be living in cardboard boxes under overpasses.
Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

I see it more as an “awareness” thing than a meme, which is what I’m aiming to promote overtime. I see men on the sides of the street lights every day going to and from work, the store, and elsewhere. I give them food when I can (I don’t give money as I’m afraid they’d spend it on something like alcohol or something that wouldn’t healthily benefit them), and I ESPECIALLY give them water (it’s ridiculously hot down here) but I’d love to use that idea of tarps and other protection from the dastardly weather Texas sometimes gets.
Next time I get paid, I’m going to buy several different things for the men around here that need that help.
As for my money problems I had before, I’m now back on my feet at last, and that female roommate I had is officially leaving on July 9th and is moving states away. I’ll be on my own and not have to worry about someone else sneaking my food and drinks while I’m away. Things are looking fantastic for me, and I want to kinda spread that positivity in my own way to those who are going through what I went through.
My “meme” comment was comparing the help to the ice bucket challenge in that people did it, because it was the thing to do, and the help was a rationalization for doing something trendy. In short they type of help ends up just being something people do. I would rather see a lasting hand up, rather than a short-term hand out. I find a large chunk of charity most people do is to placate a guilt and really not help someone.

My suggestion to record videos for a while, do interviews with the homeless, record videos you feed the homeless. Besides food, tarps, socks and underwear is desperately needed. You also may want to do a business package that Mayor of MGTOW does. Give it about 4 to 12 months then donations should pour in. Nobody is going to just donate to MGTOW when you haven’t earned our trust.
Keep receipts and keep track because people want to see that too.

@CrazyCanuck – That’s exactly the plan, m’good man! 😉

Oh, I completely agree! I’d rather avoid it being something people do just because it’s “cool” and “hip.” I want it to be meaningful. I want them to know they matter just as much as any other human being. I personally hate seeing people see the single mothers with signs and immediately feel bad for them (from what I’ve witnessed), while stereotyping the homeless men as “drunkards” and “creepy.” I’ve known quite a few homeless people myself from a previous job. Some had their pasts, sure, but EVERY one of them wanted to get out of their bind like I did, and that is one thing I aim to do.
I know posting the campaign was a little early, but I figured I’d at least let you guys be the first to know what I’ve got planned, and the coming videos I’ll start will be further proof of what I’m wanting to do here!
Just interviewed and gave some things to a couple of guys. Definitely won’t be the last time. There are no more thankful people than homeless men. One of the guys was willing to give an open “thank you” on video. I had a good talk with both of them. They fell on hard times, made a couple of mistakes 10 years ago and haven’t been able to get work or housing since. My heart goes out to them. Sounds similar to my situation that I was in.
