Originally I wanted to sail around the world and live on a sailboat…but….life took a turn and my health took a dump…so…change of plans.
Moved up my retirement date due to health and oncoming winter in the State I am going to move to….
End of June I stop working. Sooner than I planned but health s~~~ happens ya know? S~~~ just happens….and we do the best we can do.

And my new state isn’t going to be a bed of roses (I’m moving from Kalistan to Michigan)…and I’m a Biker…so instead of being able to ride almost 365 days of the year…it will be about 1/2 of a year and some of that in the rain and slush… 🙁

But that is the hand that life dealt me…..so I am going to make the best of it.

My point: LIFE IS SHORT! HAVE FUN! DO THINGS THAT YOU ENJOY AND DREAMED of DOING!

Why does it have to be Michigan?

    Great post.

Handling setbacks can be some of the biggest challenges we face. How we handle them can determine our success in life.

While there is mourning for the things we lose along the way, it is helpful to realize that everything we have is a gift, including our own lives. We entered this world with nothing, and will surely leave with nothing.

Cheers to your newest chapter of life!

I hope your retirement years are busy and active.

I’ve noticed that after most people retire they really lose it both mentally and physically (and some financially).

I look at my parents for inspiration after retiring because what they did was bought a Harley and that’s what they do and they stay busy and active and they’ve been retired for over 30 years with no problems.

    Congrats on your retirement.
    But again, why Michigan?
If you must stay in the US, why not the Gulf Coast like Texas?
    It’s comparatively cheap there.

    Well done RB,

The path to retirement is never clear, but now that you are a few months out I’m sure your eyes are set on the future and enjoying a well earnt break from making bank.

To good health and good spirt, and more of lifes adventures.

I wish it was under your ideal circumstances, but congrats on having your time always be your own.

I failed to realize in my youth that I was the prize. I was going to work. I was going to earn. Little did I realize that due to feminism, that no longer meant I had to share. Road soon, Desert after.

That’s great advice. I’ve long since stopped worrying about the future and just live day to day enjoying life as much as I can.

Who knows what the future will bring us. I’m sure you didn’t expect this health issue would come your way. No one would. Enjoy your retirement as much as you can.

Congrats on retiring! you can still enjoy the water. Get a place on the beach. Plenty of affordable properties in the south on water. America has the best health care system in the world. So you really don’t have to worry about getting health care in another state.
