Yes, yesterday I bought a 4K Smart TV from Best Buy, and it’s coming tomorrow. I can’t wait to see better HDTV. Another neat part is that I bought a Sony with my Sony Rewards Visa, which means I can get 4X the reward points, and I will put those rewards into my PSN wallet. Speaking of PlayStation, next month, when I get paid for judging the local election, I will buy a PS4 and a Sony subwoofer. Again, more Sony rewards = PlayStation dollars.
In case if you’re wondering what TV I bought and will be delivered tomorrow, here it is:
I was able to get a deal on it. I bought the open box and I had $55 Best Buy gift card. So it came to $710.01 total.
One of my favorite parts of this TV is being a new electronic device, I get to set it up. I love setting up electronic equipment; TVs, computers, home theaters. Anything I can plug in or install.

Who’s got it better than you?
Pretty good use of the money that is.

Anonymous42The perfect Television!
I use 4K TV as a monitor and it turns out it’s not really 4K – it’s half the refresh rate. The native resolution is 1080p at 60Hz. If you change it anywhere higher – it works but only at 30Hz
F~~~ING LAME
But It’s only 43″ and I got it for free. It’s a Toshiba BTW, but I’m assuming all other manufacturers are peddling the same lie

But some TVs only have one high speed 4k port and need an HDMI 2.x cable. Just some ideas to look into, or maybe your TV is just 30hz. Seems weird but i wouldn’t be shocked.

Great gift to yourself on International Women’s Day lol.
Let me know how it works out. I’ll buy a 4k/HDTV later this year, around when the new XBOX comes out.
I just got this new Sony TV today and it’s already brought me nothing but unhappiness. My big problem is my composite (yellow, video-in) which is connected to my receiver is giving me a dark picture with twitchy lines over and over. It looks like I’ll need a new cable box with HDMI since my TV and receiver tends to be more HDMI friendly than analog. So I either get a bad picture or no picture at all with the composite (cable box). I’m not fully blaming the cable box, because it DID work well on my old 720p Samsung. I’m blaming is my TV’s technology is too new, and my cable box is at least 2003 or older. I mean, I need to face it, we’re in the HDMI world now with tech. The yellow input (composite video) is old tech.
As far as Blu-ray goes, I only tried it on The NeverEnding Story, and so far it looks awesome! I can’t wait to see what it looks like with a CGI movie in Blu-ray. I haven’t yet tried it on my PS3.
So it looks like some things need some more changes in order to make this TV work out fully.
Sad part about this major purchase is that yesterday, my iPod Nano breaks (the headphone jacks don’t connect on all headphones). So there’s another $100 out the window on top of the $710 and I’m on a fixed income. To think I was going to save up for a PS4 and a subwoofer next month and this iPod replacement has set me back. It seems like a pattern, more like a curse, that when one thing goes wrong, another something goes wrong, then another and then it’s usually about the same time. I buy a TV and then my iPod goes bad the next day and shell out another replacement while I’m trying to save up for something else I really want.

Successes is the sweetest revenge.I was just thinking that. It is so great that you can spend your money on the things you want. You can get the super awesome 4K TV or you can be content with the old school TV from the late 90’s. It’s entirely up to you.

Successes is the sweetest revenge. You can say that again. I just replaced windows 10 with arch linux on my newish alienware 18 2014 model. The damn thing had a lot of dust inside the fans which I was able to clean it. I guess the old women who gave it to her granddaughter didn’t take good care of it. They only used the alienware for facebooking.

Anyways. That is one sweet ass tv.
Just a guestion though. Are you just going to watch tv with it, or hook it up to some kind of android box for free content?

I don’t have an Android. It’s for watching TV, blu-rays and PlayStation.

Well I tried out the new 4K TV on my Blu-ray player and my PS3 games, and the picture clarity is awesome! I never seen such crystal clear image in my life. This 4K is incredible! I’m glad I spent the $710 for it, now that I can see that it really DID make my entertainment pleasure better.
I had to replace my old cable box, because it was an old composite (yellow, video), and it looks like this TV doesn’t like old technology very much as it kept giving me a lousy picture. So it’s official now, everything I own is now an HDMI hook up; no composite, no component, no S-video. We did have a trouble getting the cable box hooked up, because the cable company had to activate it through the phone and it would make the picture and the box functions act funny. Either way things are much better.
I set up this 4K masterpiece on International Woman’s Day and it made my life a lot easier and better. Gee women, what was your day like shouting, rallying and marching like wild animals while I was setting up my precious 4K masterpiece?
