I currently own two cars.
The Mitsubishi 3000 GT VR4 (GTO in US) Caracas Red is out of discussion, she’s vintage, beautiful, and I’m not going to change her. EVER.

I already ordered a slightly larger boat, so I would like to wait few years before changing her, but now the bitch have some problems.
Time to dump her.

D2 Kinetic, it’s officially priced 27,000 euro but I can get it for less than 20,000 euro, due special offer. It even include special paint. 120 hp, it’s all I need in every day life (well, I don’t even need it, I have the company car).
The alternative is something VERY different, it actually cost less, but…

Limited edition, full optionals, very low mileage. 3.0 boxer, high consumption.
2007, one of the very last of the first series.
That would cost MUCH less than the new Volvo V40, and I like its interior very much – even if it’s older than the X-Type the mileage is ludicrous: 28,000 kilometers (less than 18,000 miles), it’s like new.

What do you suggest, guys?

Unless a car gives you a thrill on some level it is just an appliance. Get the 2007 with low miles.

I dive an old Honda Insight, a great appliance. I also have a sports car for fun.

The issues with the Subbie-AWD is that the tires have to all be replaced at the same time. Same with the differentials, axles, seals, etc. It is very dependable and reliable until it starts having issues, then everything seems to go wrong within 5-10K miles. There are many employees who own Subbie’s here and more in the area that have nothing bad to say until parts start going bad.

It’s not just only that it’s nothing special, it’s also that cannot use it during vacations/long travels – the company could care less if I use it to go to dine at a restaurant, 10-20 miles from my home, during my free time, even during the week-end. 50-60 miles during a week end, exclusively for my private businesses, are fine, they don’t care.
But using it during vacations lasting multiple days, travelling for 2,000 miles or even more could be a problem: I cannot use the company car for a vacation in Barcelona, Spain, or Prague, Czech Republic.
On the other hand, I have two kids, there isn’t enough space within the Mitsubishi for the above activities.

I would drive the company car and invest the rest into early retirement or into own business. If you work in your own company then by all means drive the Jaguar and Mitsubishi.

Ok, that punto is not really impressive so i can understand the need for car. Also i would take volvo before that 2007 car.
