I'm back after being dragged through the court

Hi all

I haven’t been as active as I would have liked since joining in September. The reason is, not soon after, the ex decided to hit me with a family court application, over weekend access rights (the kid has unofficially lived with me for 8 years now, because the initial “alternate weeks” in the parenting orders was not convenient for her lifestyle!). She lucked out and got a really early first hearing date, it surprised my solicitor that it came up so early. I didn’t want to raise too much attention to myself online, so made the decision to ghost (important MGTOW concept, knowing when to ghost) until it was over.

The dust has settled now, and I’m happy to report that things went mostly my way and there won’t be a second hearing. The final orders are closer to what I was proposing, than she. I’ll probably write more on my experiences with the Oz family court another time (as a deterrent to others!), but in summary, by all accounts “His Honour” was an unpredictable looney and the two barristers scrambled to get her and I to agree to something before the end of the day to avoid the judge making a ruling.

So, I’m back to going my own way now. The whole experience is another big reminder to me that modern relationships with modern women are toxic, and that to engage in them is to completely compromise yourself if you are a man.

My vasectomy was done 2 weeks ago, so with any luck I am now infertile (got a follow up test in a couple of months to verify this). Not that I’m seeing anyone at the moment, but this is an important precaution, and I can be pragmatic about “absolutely no more kids”.

I put in my application for child support collection, and it looks like that is starting to come through now. It’s not a massive windfall, as I earn more than her, but it will help.

Other than that, I’m starting to enjoy my life again. I get to hang out with my mates on Friday nights. Weekends I take out my own pace: I can work out, go bush walking in beautiful places by myself, swimming, whatever and whenever I please. There is a sense of peace and fulfilment returning to me now. And I can start to build wealth again too, without the drain of legal costs.

I want to say thanks again to OldBill, SecretAgentMGTOW and all the others that provided advice on my other threads.

I hope you are doing well, OldBill. I really appreciate the personal reply from a veteran; your earlier advice was instrumental in me growing some b~~~~ and tackling that child support issue! She was totally p~~~ed when she was hit with it, called me “pathetic” and “not a man”. I recognised this for the predictable shaming language it is.

Yeah, success is definitely possible. From experience just be persistent and patient, and things do get better over time. I admit I probably had a bit of good luck somewhere, it’s not good idea to leave it all to luck. But mainly, it’s down to being very careful and getting timing right.

I’m English and things are getting bad here with English justice/women, but from what I read about Australia, it is terrible over there and men are pretty much f~~~ed over there, with Australian justice/women.

Well done, Dave. I’m glad that you’ve come out of it now and that it has gone mainly in your favour, so that you can get back on with re-building your life and enjoying things more. I don’t know your story or what you’ve been through, but you have my best wishes, man. You can start properly living now…
