    …you’re not alone.

Millions of Americans don’t make a lot of money (as well as people around the world). Most American workers make less than $50,000 a year…and some of them have kids to feed.

To me, $30,000 a year for one person (before taxes) is not enough money. Rent, food, and bills take a huge chunk of that. If you can share the bills with someone, that’s a plus. If you own a house with low property taxes, that’s even better.

What fascinates me about this list of wages is: the very small percentage of multi-million dollar salaries. It’s kind of hilarious that there’s about 200 people who make WAY MORE MONEY than everyone else.

Compare one person making $50,000,000 a year to 2000 people making $25,000 a year. Surely one person can’t match the productivity of 2000 workers. These super-millionaires probably own entire shopping malls.

The view from the top of the mountain must be great. I wonder what it would be like to get interest from loans and dividends from stocks—provided by a million, desperate souls working hard to pay their bills.

I read that it will be hard for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.

Ask the TV evangelists to take a vow of poverty and watch their reaction. Ha ha!

There is a scripture about them as well along with their gullible followers:- “If a blind man leads a blind man, they will both fall into a pit”.

1 Timothy 3:3, “…[church pastors should be] not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;”

Right from the mouth (pen) of St. Paul, the most revered saint in Christendom.

How many pastors lie to themselves and say that they’re not greedy for money, as long as they’re using it “for a good purpose?”

Seems a bit skewed. Its obviously counting part time workers or people who didn’t work the full year, because the federal minimum wage is 7.25 an hour, which would be about 15k for a full time year, and its got nearly 30% of people making less than that, plus a lot of areas have a minimum higher than the federal. Its also just counting wages…so its leaving a lot off people off the high end because a lot of people on the high end make a lot of money off investments/capital gains, not payroll. A lot of the ones on this list are probably actors/athletes that can’t take stock options and don’t have any fancy ways to hide their income lol.

I don’t mind people making a s~~~ load of money…it just sucks that stagnant wages have made it so hard for the average person to be able to afford the standard of living that was commonplace the last few generations. Of course…a lot of people aren’t helping their cause either when they run around with the latest smart phones, brand new cars, and run up stupid amounts of debt for the “college experience.” A couple buttons on my phone were starting to not work so well so I went to get a new one today…couldn’t f~~~ing believe they had 800+ dollar phones in there…and I know idiots that buy one every year so they can post selfies from the 3000 dollar yearly vacation they take lol. Dumb s~~~ like that adds up when you are only making 40k a year, but so many people prioritize that stuff over saving a down payment for a house/condo, paying off existing debt(hell they’re still busy running new debt up for as long as their credit card works and the bank will let them borrow for cars and s~~~), or retirement savings.

I dont live in the US so, its a bit different but my yearly income is under 13k in dollars.
I still live very well, because I dont spend on anything I dont need, so I can save some cash for later, perhaps even invest in something.

I read that it will be hard for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.

I am sure the rich priests really believe in what they preach then…

Best part is, that if you took any of the bible stories and told it in modern times you’d end up in a psych ward, but for some reason we believe the stories someone wrote thousands of years ago, then were interpreted by someone else, and finally translated by someone else. (not to mention put together from different texts).

And… cherry on top, it was told to you by your parents, who probably never even read the bible but tell parts they remember from when they were little and went to church (cus of course they dont go anymore).

I mean… how in the name of the nine hells of baldurs gate did anyone ever buy that s~~~?!

Ye, I know about Climate change and I actually buy that one (At least when I look at the air pollution in cities when I take an Airplane I can see the s~~~ Ill breathe in when I land).

See, I dont see it as Liberals vs Republicans or Rich vs Poor and so on.

Every time you go on these people vs those people you are already in a position where you are fighting, so… Probably not good, because someone is reaping the benefits from your fighting.
But then again, everyone believes what they want, and to be honest, I see the same bias in people who I agree with as in those who I dont agree with.

Its ironic since in some cases you agree with someone on 50 things, and it only takes 1 to make them dislike you. Hmmm, I might have derailed this a bit…

I read that it will be hard for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.

I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:23-26

‘eye of a needle’ may be referring to an actual needle, or it could be referring to a narrow entrance in a wall in which all of a camel’s bags would need to be removed in order for them to fit.

It’s about supply and demand, not actual output. Your absolutely right that 2000 workers could be more productive then one, but that 1 person may be the only person with the skills and experience to actually complete the job. Take a professional athlete for example. They obviously don’t work in proportion to their pay, yet there are so few that can operate at their skill level, and people are willing to pay big dollars to see them.

The view from the top of the mountain must be great. I wonder what it would be like to get interest from loans and dividends from stocks—provided by a million, desperate souls working hard to pay their bills.

Part of that view isn’t rich people, but corporations. I understand what you’re getting at, but loans and stocks help enable money to be used instead for growth to provide jobs and such, instead of just sitting their helping nobody. We do have an inequality problem, and in my uneducated opinion it has to do with government regulations that allow people to earn money without providing any real benefit to people.

    Ok. Then do it.
