This study hit me very hard. I got very oldfashioned advice from my parents. They always said that study hard etc. I lost a lot of friends because of that. Now I realize that my life could be much happier if I had chosen the easy way.

I would take a difference attitude towards work. We spend almost 1/3 of our life working, so we might as well do something WE LIKE.
This idea that we should do things because of women, because of society, because of (fill in the blank), its a self-defeating concept. Its BECAUSE WE WANT, for ourselves, for our self-validation.

A great book I enjoy is Dune, and the main idea is that hardship creates value. So taking the easy way is not always a good idea.

If you want to walk the MGHOW path you should look at what interests you. My job is also my hobby (computers). I go to work and its like playtime for me. I am only earning 6 figures and could probably push it harder but I don’t want to ruin my hobby by making it “work”.

I think men are just pragmatic with their efforts.
If it is worthy we can work hard, but when its empty of meaning, then we simply give up, sit on the couch, crack a beer and do nothing.

For me, I’ll take any job there is. Part time, full time, boring ass desk job, or any type of dirty job. The only places I refuse to work at are at fast food joints because most of those places have only women working there. And I don’t even want to be surrounded by women at work.

Why did someone feel the need to research that?

Of course the paper assumes that what men want is self indulgent, lazy, and unproductive. Well self indulgent, maybe, but what of it? Men at their worst will never be as self indulgent as women at their best. But lazy and unproductive? Hardly. Not even close.

Just because men aren’t producing what society and women want does not mean they are unproductive.

For example I invented a new type of cam this month. I hope to try it out this weekend, weather permitting. I’ve got hours and hours into this project, but I’m only making it for me. I have no intention of selling it or turning a profit on it or generating tax revenues for women with it. The off the shelf cams just weren’t doing the job, so I think I came up with something better.

I’ve spent hours of my own time drawing it up, modeling it, fixing the g-code, babysitting the mill, assembling the prototype. Is that lazy? Is that unproductive? Of course not.

It merely doesn’t serve any wants of women or society. But so what?

It’s probably more that the entire system is rigged against men, and most men are too stupid and delusional to realize it or admit it. Makes it hard for me to have sympathy either.

I would strongly recommend most men go the blue collar route, rather than going in debt for a job that probably won’t be there. Instead get some skills and work your way up, and then have your employer pay for your schooling so they can promote you further.
