Just when I think they can’t be any more short sighted, reckless and stupid… you post this idiocy bomb! Please tell me this twit published this on a public blog somewhere so I can respond to her directly. This demonstrates exactly the difference between ‘getting more’ and ‘earning more’. It p~~~es me off more and more every time I see it…and though I share Smitty’s suspicions about a s~~~ test, tonight I need to blow a gasket for a minute or two.
How the hell can anyone boast about the numbers of female college graduates when they didn’t even truly ‘earn’ the seats they occupied on the first damn day of school?
This is a prime example of what passes for female empowerment. This is a woman who believes herself to be qualified to determine in advance, without ever meeting or spending time with any of them, which applicants are going to ‘improve the world’…at some point still many years in the future… She has test scores in front of her which are the best available measure of the intellectual ability of any candidate, but chooses gender as the primary deciding factor for ‘who is going to make the world better’.
I wonder how she became so qualified to make this determination, yet is not able to spell ‘prevelege’ or ‘qualifaction’ correctly? I also wonder if she realizes where the alumni support for her school is going to come from 10-20 years down the road? I went to a medical school where my class was 51% female. That ratio was accomplished by ignoring the lower admission scores of female applicants. In a published study, the number of American female medical school graduates still practicing medicine full time 5 years after graduation is about 35%. While at that school, after scoring well enough to overcome the discrimination against me for being male, I neither asked for, or received ANY financial assistance for my tuition, books, fees, living expenses etc.
I occasionally get mail from that school asking for ‘alumni support’. Those requests go into a trash can very similar to the one this idiot tosses the applications of qualified male students.
I read this question “If men are better than women, why are women earning more?”, and I am inspired to answer. But before I do, I have a question of my own: If women are earning more, why aren’t they actually producing more? So, I’m now going to hijack this post. I don’t want to see one more man here post one more thing about why women are earning more. We are going to have a different set of posts from here on down based on a different list…
Edison, Westinghouse, Bell, Oppenheimer, Armstrong, Von Braun, Yeager, Whitney, Ford, Wright brothers, Salk, Tesla, Flemming, Einstein, Marconi, Jobs, Pasteur, Fulton…
These MEN have broken the sound barrier, split the atom, walked on the moon, established communication across continents, eradicated polio and small pox, perfected mass production, discovered, produced, harnessed and distributed electricity… all using their male brains. Millions of others whose names we don’t recognize have dug mines, erected skyscrapers, cleared jungles, planted crops, sunk wells for water and oil and laid the roads, rails, wires and pipes to distribute all of it using their MALE muscle.
THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO USED THEIR ABILITIES TO IMPROVE THE WORLD. Without the contributions of men, the planet’s environment is best suited for fish, reptiles and bacteria and barely inhabitable for humans at all.
Women live safely and comfortably in a world whose environment would scarcely allow their survival for even a single month without the products of male brains and male muscle having been provided to them by MEN. One hundred years of voting and forty+ years of feminism with all the unearned, artificially engineered social constructs designed to provide equal opportunity to them and produce equal results from them… have produced from women exactly WHAT???
What have all these educated, empowered, allegedly equal women ever actually produced? Since getting the vote a century ago, they have produced the prohibition of alcohol, 70% of divorces, 80% of child abuse and a generation or two of children of both genders who are far less competitive in the world than their grandparents were.
I can reference a dozen or so historical accomplishments of men right off the top of my head with no research at all. Everyone knows who these men are because everyone of them ‘improved the world’. What I want to see in this thread now is not a list of reasons why women should earn more than men, but a reason why they should earn as much, or for that matter, anything at all approaching what men earn? I’ll qualify this by saying that my definition of “what is earned” is inseparably linked to “what is produced”.
Forty years I’ve been listening to these feminist equality rantings and waiting for them to produce something that ‘improved the world’…
Anybody got any thoughts on starting THAT list???!!!
