Earlier this week I was coerced into going ice skating. Someone (yes, a girl) was paying a visit to my city especially to see me, and they insisted we go to a skating rink. There’s a few of them around for Christmas.

I haven’t been ice skating in years, and I’ve never been able to skate, whether it was ice skates, roller skates or rollerblades. But I enjoyed myself doing it, and I think I did a lot better than expected.

I did fall over about six or seven times, but up to the very last time I had no problem getting up and back into it. The only frustration I had came when other people were just standing around on the ice, making no effort to move or get out of the way.

I’ll probably go again before the year is out, as I’d really like to learn how to ice skate.

I get it… It wasn’t so much about fish product, as it was about venturing toward the edge of my comfort zone.

Dude, I love ice skating. I took my c~~~ and kids skating once…I used to skate as a kid, and played icehockey for a couple years. My kids took to it fairly quickly, the c~~~ not so much. She made the afternoon miserable, falling down, swearing up a storm, then almost getting into a fight with some other woman out on the ice. Watching that c~~~ creep around the edge holding on to the wall was priceless. Within 20 minutes my kids were making crossover turns and almost a twirl. They mastered going backwards easily too.

The ride home was extremely quiet, the scowl on the c~~~’s face left a permanent wrinkle in her face. Had I known things would go to hell 6 months later, I’d would have taken my kids skating more and accelerated the bitch into the wall a few more times. Kids had a great time and never talked about skating again.

lol the ice skating rink was kinda across the street from my lawyer’s office. Every time I went to court or the lawyers office, I remembered the skating day.

She ended up all bruised on her ass and knees. I guess I was abusing her. If she called a cop, I woulda been f~~~ed.

Just so you’re aware…That particular edge of your comfort zone can cost you a horrific ton of money and time.

Still a little blue pill left in this one.

    Why?

Have you just won the lottery or received an inheritance?

My thinking….you fell way before you even got to the ice rink sir.

How can a woman be expected to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly normal human being.

My skinny little ankles prevent me.
Did some of it and liked it. Roller skating to. A good way to practice falling with out hurting yourself.

    There is a solution.

Hockey skates. They really deal well with people who have weaker ankles.

Same with really good quality rollerblades, any with a ski boot style that immobilizes the ankle better does the trick.

Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.

    Dude, I love ice skating.

No s~~~ May, I still have my Bauer’s from the early 90s’, I used to skate all winter when I was a kid! We walked a couple miles as long as the Ice was good, and every Saturday we went to the indoor arena! I must admit skating prepped me for skiing as the motions are the same and build up the same muscle groups, I was like a fish to water when I put on some skis! I like skiing way the f~~~ better! You can’t skate up and over fallen trees! And you can’t get no air time! Too flat, slow, and boring!

Skiing you can f~~~ing kill yourself! I’ve done cartwheels!

Clearly we need more women doing West Coast Skiing – these sexist pigs need to woman up. This area is definitely underrepresented by women.

Growing up in Wisconsin Skating was just part of yearly winter life. Pond down the road. Still remember my first skates, 4 blades instead of the single. Kind of like training wheels for little kids.
