Note to anyone planning a marriage. Put a clause or two for this in your prenuptial agreement.

Interesting subject. I used to work in family law as a paralegal. From my reading I found paternity fraud was something close to 3 in 10. While I don’t know about other states, Washington State has laws that if your name’s on the birth certificate and don’t challenge paternity in a very short period of time…you’re legally the father…no.matter.what. I’ve run across many men who discovered “their child” wasn’t theirs around puberty….but according to the courts…that is too late to make a challenge.

Further, since no fault divorce, many courts won’t even consider evidence of any adultery issues unless you can demonstrate it’s negative impact on the children (best interests of the child standard), or as a symptom of a mental health issue of the wife/mom…which can be kind of a low bar, if done correctly. Infidelity is a common symptom of Bipolar/Manic-Depressive behavior. So in that regard, a guy could get away with a little bit of infidelity evidence (Slut shaming anyone?).

Every woman is a slut, if you catch her on the right day.

3 in 10 sounds accurate, that was a number put around here in Oz based on actual paternity testing figures. The fems, of course, tried to use it to shame men – “these deadbeats tried to get out of paying child support, but 70% of them were wrong!”

That lack of logic is not worth refuting, but something that struck me about this – even if the much disputed 1 in 5 or 1 in 4 figure for rape victims was correct, you could still say, “75% of women aren’t raped!”

I don’t see them partying over that number.

I have seen articles where judges are throwing out pre-nups because they are “unreasonable”
Is it not a written and binding contract?
