I would want to see a multi-member voting system of at least 5 senior members.

So no personal war can be fought and getting 5 others to gang up on another normal member is rather impossible.

But a troll easily “makes” 5 enemies who then all want to punt him.

All can go anonymously so no after-fighting will break out. And if one member uses the punt feature too often, then it can be revoked just as easily.

Why make it so complicated? Look at it this way; if an obvious f~~~wit like the last one says something that would get him punched out if he said it in person, then he needs to go. Straight away. No acts of congress or 20 pages of people playing with him, just freeze his posting privelidges and that is it. Let KM decide if he is to be deleted but until then, he can’t pollute the forums with anymore of his s~~~ and nobody else can either because his thread has been locked or deleted. And yes, I am guilty of engaging the troll myself.

The buttons and emails worked, they just didn’t work fast enough. There isn’t 24/7 administrative coverage for this site and only one man can punt trolls. I agree 100% with OldBill that having members reacting to troll threads accomplishes nothing whatsoever in stopping a troll.. having said that.. I don’t expect thousands of members whom enjoy relaxing and having a good time on this site to babysit themselves for long periods of time. Like the old saying goes “When the cat’s away, the mice will play.” Not that many men have the self discipline and integrity to control themselves most of the time!
