Earlier this evening when I was resting from shooting hoops at the park, I saw someone do something that looks like fun to do. I saw this guy in his early 20s, he took off his shirt and started using the children’s play gym to tumble. He would run up to a part of the play gym, jump, dive and roll on the ground, or would do gymnastic type jumps and climbs. I’m thinking that looks like fun to do. If my 260 pound Jell-O body would allow me to do stuff like that I want to do it, but when kids are not around, because this young man was a jumper and a climber and was doing well at it. Maybe that will help me lose some pounds and shrink my belly down. I mean this other guy had a slightly smaller build than me, but he’s in his early 20s and I’m 33.

Also another thing I want to do as a workout and did when I tried that CrossFit the other month and that’s tire workouts. I want to get a car tire, just the rubber part, a 15-foot chain, wrap the chain around the tire, push or flip the tire down the driveway to the street, and pull it back, and repeat. I enjoyed doing that at the club, but it’s not one of those things that’s available anytime; it’s something only during a class session. So I like to get a tire and chain and do push/flip/pulls. I would love to do that on a 90 degree day like we had today in Chicago.

I think you are talking about parkour.

Yes! The young man in the picture on the site is doing just what that young guy in the park was doing. It looks like fun, and it looks like something to help me shed some pounds, especially if we get another 90 degree day. I can’t do it tomorrow, I’ll be shopping for new shorts and undershorts, and Wednesday, there’s talking an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms. If it’s clear enough on Thursday, I want to try it out.

But seriously what I saw was called parkour, but what I saw is what I thought tumbling is. I thought tumbling is when you run, jump, turn, and roll upon landing. So it’s called parkour? I’m going to YouTube it. Either way it looks like fun, and a fat burning workout; something I do need.

I just saw this parkour stuff on YouTube and YIKES! When it’s done wrong, and that would be me, it’s brutal what can happen. I didn’t know what it was until I saw it, and I don’t know if I’m going to do it at the level these kids were doing it. One mistake and you can get an imprint of your face on the sidewalk. If I do try it out, I’d rather do what that young guy in the park yesterday evening was doing it. He made it look safe, and easy. Then again, the park doesn’t have pavement at the playground; just mulch and dirt.

As far as the danger is about, I won’t do what those idiots were doing in the below video, now that I see what this is:

    OUCH!

You can think of me as a wimp all you want because I want to try a scaled down version of parkour, but I’m going to end up parts of myself all over the park. What I want to try to attempt is called being safe, and smart.

Besides the people in those fail clips look like young guys that tried to impress some girl, and it ended with nasty results.

If you’re looking to lose weight, I would HEAVILY recommend going back to crossfit. I did it for a few months, and got addicted. The camraderie, the intense workouts, and you learn how to be fit as you go. I also had a sox pack for the first time ever. I’m trying to get it back now, doing P90X. I’d recommend that also if you dont wanna leave home too often.

Brother, we need to stick together.

I tried CrossFit once and I almost threw up. Then again, doing an hour workout before that and on an empty stomach didn’t help. Besides, the only thing I enjoyed when I did the session that one time of CrossFit was the tire station. I flipped and pushed a tire down the basketball court, and with a chain, pulled it back and repeated. I want to get myself a tire and chain and do that in the driveway, especially on a hot 90 degree day like yesterday. I don’t think the club would allow me to do it without there being a session in progress.

Plus to help me lose fat, I hope this works, I just started taking a Muscle Pharm supplement called CLA Core, and Shed Matrix. So far in the past week of having the CLA and 4 days of Shed Matrix, I don’t see anything happening yet, but it could be too soon.
