I Love Capitalism.

Wish we had some real free market Capitalism… Things would be just fine for most if we did, sadly we are a long ways away from ridding ourselves of Cronyism and Monopolies, beginning with FIAT money and the magical powers it bestows to those who lend something for profit that they did not have in the first place to begin with.

You can have Capitalism and a Social Safety Net at the same time. Cronyism/Monopolies get in the way of it working well for the everyman though. I am Libertarian, yet I am fine with Welfare to a degree, especially when the system is as Crony and dysfunctional as it is right now… And as far as Greed being the Achilles heel, well, that is what breaking up Monopolies is about. Once something gets so big that it extinguishes competition it must be broken up for the good of everyone, well, everyone except the greedy f~~~ who cornered the market.

Disagree with the level of acceptance of help being dependent on how corrupt the system is.

The system is corrupt and that is why it doesn’t work.
For all of its warts, the system works better IMO than all others. Corruption, warts and all.

For all the warts, I would rather be here then Venezuela.

Capitalism will sustain itself until a better model is established, just like democracy. Socialism might be more desirable for the masses but that does not make it more effective.

The fact of the matter is there is no incentive to excel within a socialist system, aside from power, which corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

On paper Socialism makes sense, add humans to the equation and it does not. You want greatmess, play the cost otherwise settle for mediocrity.

Hmm, I wouldn’t say that I’m a this or a that, but I do have my own theory on why communism and socialism never worked.

I think capitalists created and funded most of the socialist and communist regimes in the last century. They purposely funded tyrants and despots and allowed them to try and function on a communist and socialist economy. After all the bloodshed that was allowed to occur in Mao’s China and Stalin’s Soviet Union the capitalists then said AHA! See what capitalism and socialism has done! All the while they were the secret money men behind the curtain pulling the strings. I mean look, mass executions went on in these countries for DECADES! The entire social structure had been purged from any and all dissent, then all of sudden the power elite were like aww we were wrong this WHOLE time and now were going to switch to capitalism. That’s horse s~~~ my opinion. Wealthy capitalists funded communist and socialist regimes to create a boogey man so everybody says, Oh isn’t capitalism so great. The problem is all of the “isms.” They are all used to control and enslave humanity. It’s like saying death by firing squad is the right way because it creates economic opportunities for gun manufacturers while stoning people leads to economic despair.

While having many conversations with people around my age about politics over the years, one thing I have noticed is that the more someone supports socialism/communism, the more debt they have, and the more financially illiterate they are. They want to be taken care of because they have already proven to themselves through their life choices they can not provide themselves with the standard of living they feel entitled to, which for some reason they think big daddy government should provide for them.

The problem is, the more the government takes to redistribute the less incentive people have to actually do anything for themselves.

I share this belief as well, but unfortunately at some point we’ve started treating people who suffer from the conditions “stupid” and “lazy” as disabled. I know a guy who was diagnosed with MS in his 30s, worked up until his 40s when he could hardly walk or do his job anymore. Now he’s early 50s, can’t walk at all, and is losing control of his arms. I wish I could see the guy in good health again, but since that isn’t an option, I’m glad to see that guy get disability. I know another asshole who is on it because he has a bum knee.
