I’ve been in a university for about a semester and a half, not very long, but I laugh now about all the useless FEMENIST crap that they “taught us”. Everything from my literature telling us “Hamlet killed his uncle because he was a man and thus hated himself, and was angry and so killed him”, to my chemistry teacher allowing women to hit men in his classroom for NO OTHER REASON than because they were men (actually quite true, he didn’t even get in trouble with the administration), and even us guys being put aside, on a mandatory Sexual Health course, and sit for an hour every week being almost yelled at about sexual abuse/assault, and how we would have to (This wasn’t even a religious school, this was an international private school) CONTROL OUR URGES…control…our f~~~ing…urges. This bitch would talk to us like we were f~~~ing APES. And one Feme-bitch of a teacher give me a C on a final project because she could, every chick in the class got AT LEAST a A-, and every dude who would practically kiss her ass and somehow work feminism into the presentation would get a B+ minimum. the rest got C’s. LOL, this bulls~~~ used to anger me. I guess I got the last laugh. Glad that s~~~’s over.

Sadly, the university system’s become a cesspool of political correctness in all its various mutations.  Somewhere, along the way, the bestowing of knowledge and wisdom got lost.

By the way, I took a certain arts course because I needed one in order to complete my B. Sc.  The prof unashamedly showed his contempt for the engineering students.  I wasn’t particularly amused by that, so I did the only logical thing.  I held my nose, so to speak, parroted back to him the bilge he was dispensing, and aced the course.  Fortunately, I’ve long since forgotten everything he taught.

I’ve been out of university for a long time…so long that the feminist propaganda deluge had not really begun when I was there. I had a science major, and I had the brain for it (I liked test questions that had only one, provable correct answer). Beyond the limits of what science can currently prove, there is room for opinion and there are differences of option among good scientists. But within what science can prove, which is what you get at a BS level university science program, the questions had only a single correct answer.

I don’t know how I’d react if I had to do it again under the current circumstances I read about today. There were some liberal arts classes that I was required to take to get my science degree, but I don’t remember them being all worked up about gender issues the way people describe them now.

My initial reaction reading this thread is that I would do what Quarter did. Just nod to indicate agreement with bulls~~~ as it spewed forth, regurgitate it back to them to indicate I believed it, take my grade and go one with my original degree plan quietly recognizing it for the bulls~~~ that it was and ignoring it accordingly. But I suspect people like us are the unattainable fruit, and that we were not the target.

Some people with strong critical thinking skills are not going to buy anything not demonstrably based the strongest available evidence. Feminism and other crack pot social movements don’t have much chance of getting any traction with those people. As I think of it more, I become concerned about the people who don’t have those skills. People without critical thinking skills are the easy target, low hanging fruit whose threshold for acceptance and belief is just a matter of quantity. If you throw the same bulls~~~ at these people often enough for long enough, they WILL accept it, believe it and act on it.

So now I wonder if maybe it wouldn’t be a better idea to advise offering some resistance to the bulls~~~. Make them work for it. Raise the standard of acceptance. Speaking up will likely create some friction and as much grief as they can create, but silence from us indicates to success to them, and like all tyranny… only encourages them more.

I’m going to come down on the side of Quarter Wave Vertical: Hold your nose, tell them what they want to hear, and get on with your STEM degree. I have to agree with BrainPilot that someone should put up resistance. But (hypothetically) I’m not paying my tuition to battle for men’s rights, I’m there to get my STEM degree.

That said, if I got reset back to age 17, then I would seek a high paying trade. Their pay rivals white collar workers, and they do not have a mountain of student loan debt to drag around. I would not go to college in today’s world. Once was enough.

EDIT: If I were back in college, I would never again take extra courses. I can get “broadening” and “fun” for free. While in school, I would take only courses absolutely required. I need the time to study and I do not want to pay out any more tuition than necessary.

    Agreed Roy,
Though I wish something or someone would slow or reverse the trends I’m seeing, I’ll also confess that the personal success I’ve had has been largely due to focusing tightly my goals and not getting distracted with anything that didn’t get me closer to them.

I liken it to charging a machine gun emplacement. That works in comic books and movies, but in real life, it is smarter to go around the flank.

I’m forced to admit that I’ve gotten into bitter arguments with feminazis. I’m just not astute enough to learn from my mistakes! That said, my college grades did not depend on their opinions of me.

It’s today’s contribution from the redoubtable Dr. Smith. (It’s funny how these coincidences work out, isn’t it?)
