… and one by the reddit avatar (formerly member “May 7”?) who said members profiles are being erased. We are deleting nobody. Please don’t post nonsense . We are however, adding the ability for members to delete their own accounts — which is one of the new member additions. I wouldn’t recommend anyone uses the self-delete feature YET though, because it will not be reversible.

I don’t have time to hang out in the forums tonight because we’re VERY busy on this, but I would like to thank Mickey for his hour on the phone and for his help.

I am having dinner and returning in a couple of hours to perform a radical update to the member/login/profile/account/notifications pages. This is a huge deal, AND MAY even affect permissions for members at first (like restricting permissions to post). BUT… it should finally solve the log in issue for anyone.

Mickey has graciously offered to fill everyone in.
He knows we’ll be working into the night and for the next few days.

Gentleman, I have not been able to login since about 2.5 weeks ago.

So with that, lets begin.
If you have not seen this notice? Here it is:

SO here are some things that you should know.

1. The new site is being worked on. BUT He has been working to pay his own rent. Without that, he could not dedicate more time to MGTOW.com.

2. Keymasters GOAL is to make this website his daily job. You can’t do that unless you got a way to pay your own bills. With what he is working on, he will be able to dedicate his time to MGTOW.com.

3. KEYMASTER is ALIVE and doing better than ever. But he does have a life folks. And he does need to do other things. Others have mentioned why not put in admins? Well, there are some real big liabilities there. And it is to PROTECT MGTOW.com. This might seem odd, but maybe many of you don’t know this. MGTOW.com was not made by a multimillion dollar team. Nope. Made by ONE MAN with some help from a few others. But most of what you see on this site is all the work of 1 man. THINK ABOUT IT!

4. He wanted me to let all members know, that if you wish to cash in your chips, get refunds, then you are welcome to contact keymaster to do so. Also, the new web site is going to require new logins, and is going to be a new platform. So the membership information is going to have to be resubmitted. Keymaster really cares about men getting true value for their help running the web site. And he thanks the members who’s help pay the hosting costs of this website. It’s not cheap. Freedom comes at a price gentleman.

5. All things should be taken care of in 2 months time MAX. Till then he is going to be working on one page a day to fix bugs and issues with the site. Some features are going to go offline but will return in the final Roll out of the website.

6. Login issues are the main problem here. It took him personally fixing this to get it working for me. From his end, he was able to make it work. I tried this once before and it did not work. But imagine the amount of time it’s going to take to fix this issue.

7. One question that’s been going around is why we don’t have admins? Well, that takes money, trust, and knowledge. Those things do not come cheap. We have a fellow TurboBricker here, and he can tell you that keeping a site up and running is not easy.
Finding people that have these abilities and trust and fairness all in one package is HARD to do. Many don’t understand what Legal Liabilities come up when you have site admins that deal with things like login info, payment information etc. There is a reason why Keymaster prefers to manage this site.

8. MGTOW.com is not a FOR PROFIT WEB SITE. It was a Idea he created that he never thought would scale into one of the leading websites out there on the net. Contrary to some, MGTOW.com is not some Multi million dollar set up. It was a labor of love. And therefore, a HOBBY that become and grew into the site that it is today. That is why there are so many issues with the site as is. It was never made to handle the traffic that it gets. Or the user base. Crazy but true.

9. Keymaster is going to implement these changes in the future that is going to make MGTOW.com one of the most cutting edge website out there. And it will be able to scale to MILLIONS of user one day. THIS IS THE PLAN folks.

10. You want to be a part of History? Stay along for the ride. MGTOW.com is not going anywhere. I’m not. (Unless I go to jail again) And with all great things, investment take time to grow.

This will be automatic. Those who contacted (cancelled) will be taken care of automatically. They will get refunded back to the day they cancelled + 1 month as a gesture of good faith…and they won’t be downgraded for doing so.

MUCH sooner than that. “Two months” is the amount of time we took to develop the new website. It has been tested off site. The part I am most nervous about will be performed tonight. All members SHOULD be able to log in by morning.

It will affect member “roles” and its a big deal.
Basic / Ghost / Galt / Subscriber / Participant . . . etc.

Features like “Notifications” , Private Messaging, live notifications (etc) will probably go in and out or go through a “black out” period. … and because forums roles are attached to this , you may log in and not be able to post temporarily. “roles” will just go out of whack for a bit. Could be 1 hour. Could be 3 hours.. Could be 2 days after the update before it’s all sorted. THat’s the hardest part.

After that, we need to go through menus, videos, categories, contents and change how they integrate. For example, Many youtube videos have disappeared from youtube and so we need to check all 210 of them to link them. This is content part is easy… but time consuming.

We are also now integrated with twitter.
The new homepage will pull aggregated tweets from MGTOW everywhere.

If I had to guess, you will probably see the new homepage up this weekend. Things like “MGHOW of the day” will be back. When the homepage is done, the hard part will be over. THEN the forums will be newly refurnished.

Mickey also mentioned the new crypto-currency website. This is totally unrelated to mgtow.com. It’s a totally separate venture which has been in development since November. A HUGE project which went live 2 weeks ago. It’s currently in the early phase of load testing and “just letting it run” before we really start sending traffic to it. So now I have the time to devote to MGTOW.com starting today.

You know how Carnage says all the time that he is his own man? We got to be like that folks.

Things happen.
What really killed me is that I did not see any Content on the Major Youtube MGTOW channels about MGTOW.com. That was kind of unnerving. I know I felt that way.

I sent some emails, but those kinds of things go under the radar when you have hundreds, if not thousands to deal with when you open up your inbox. Not for the faint of heart.

Right now, I bet there are about 4000 or more to take care of. Actually, I was kind of WTF is going on? Where the hell is everyone when just looking at the forums. It really sucked I could not reply. So I am going to go through some of the S~~~ threads that have been posted. You got the right to say what you want. But I saw some F~~~ED UP posts in the last 2 weeks, and that is going to get cleaned up soon. OFF to the LITTER BOX!

And one last thing. If I hear one more thing about how Keymaster is not doing his job, I ask you, WHAT WEB SITE HAVE YOU hosted today?

IT TAKES A MAGICAL TRIP into a suction fan that’s strong enough to fly a model airplane 747, and it grounds some non protected NON EEC memory, and the server farts out bad code and writes some bad data to the stack, that is now almost impossible to catch.

Since this data is a database file like your login info? It is Physically impossible to ensure your old data is correct, since the login data can change at anytime.
With over 35-45,000 users and non users data of Encrypted password files, that look like 256bit HASH, it’s not even remotely possible to open this data file from any snapshot, and rebuild any database; without killing another user’s login or ability to use a site.
This is the EXTREME cliff notes version.

Every members login info is safe, I can vouch for that since this site uses software that has these features built in even though it can be a headache. So every question about user login data security is safe by default of the software that runs the backend of MGTOW.com
