It seems like every week there’s a new movement or commercial out to make us all aware that women are abused. I’m not saying that it doesn’t happen, but i’m tired of seeing it presented as if 90% of all women are getting beaten on a weekly basis. The problem is that abuse is portrayed as simply something that women face. Most men are taught from an early age that you don’t hit women. This can put a man in a precarious position when a woman becomes violent.
So today I thought, why not have an awareness campaign for men? You could call it something like “I didn’t hit back” and have a photo (Like the one I have with my black eye) with your personal story. I just wonder how long it would take to be shot down….

Show them a picture of a guy with a black eye and they would say good on her. Then the very next thing will be, “he must have done something to deserve it and he’s a creep”, next “well I don’t know why he stays, he’s enabling this, it’s his fault”.

But I would plaster those pictures everywhere because subliminally they would raise consciousness that women are just as aggressive as men.

That’s what i’m talking about. The idea that it’s ok for women to destroy property, or inflict injury on a man for some injustice, whether it’s only perceived or real. I have friends who have had property destroyed, simply because their girlfriend/wife felt wronged in some way. The problem is that none of them pressed charges. Even if they had tried, they would probably be made to feel like an asshole for doing so, or laughed at.
If we’re going to have a big campaign about abuse, shouldn’t it be abuse in general?

Not being an abuser of women, or someone who tolerates abuse of myself, I fail to see how this is any of my concern.  If 90% of all women are getting beaten on a weekly basis, well maybe those women should do something about that.

That’s one of the things I identified very early in my research into MGTOW, that kind of campaign is what the MRAs should be doing.

MGTOW is a statement in it’s own right. Society needs to understand that MGTOW are already lost to it, the MRAs, (if they were smart) would be holding MGTOW up as an example of the losses and damage caused by Feminism and warning of more to come if they keep ONLY listening to womens issues. But from what i read, the MRAs aren’t organised, focused or even coherent in their messages, so don’t hold your breath for them to manage something like this either.

So just to put this up front I think this is a good idea and the following I just thought was funny, that being said you could use their own scheme against them and have the Men holding signs saying I need MGTOW because….

Hmm, my take on this one LazarusLong wouldn’t be “I need MGTOW bcause…”  but much rather “I am a MGTOW because…” if anything otherwise it would be viewed as to close to have been copycatted, get it..?

But other than that as a side note, I still think the timing for any such an idea or a similar one is just not right yet as it is still way to early for that same or similar as I think it’s still to early for Tim Patten going on that men eating show…

Maybe once our member numbers are getting into the 10 000s or 100 000 s at the earliest or say once we may have any notable impact on the system itself for that matter. Those ideas in principle are A-OK, although maybe a bit pre-mature.

Once again, just my two €- sents there.

You might be right Ned, it may be a bit too early yet. I do think that working on the idea so that it is ready when the timing presents itself is a good idea though.

Ned I completely agree with you. I left it that way because I wanted it to be deliberately derisive by using the exact thing they say. But for an actual campaign you are completely correct.

Great idea in concept but likely ineffective if presented in that context.   What I think would be effective RIGHT NOW is a massive blow beneath the belt.   The other “sacred cow” in western society are children.  They rightly deserve that elevated status IMHO since they truly are powerless for all practical purposes. Picture this visual in your mind’s eye…

A picture…a billboard set on an ominous dark backdrop….there is a man on the right side with a black eye, bloody lip, scratches, and torn shirt.  He has a small overnight bag at his feet  with some clothes sticking out of it.  His face is stoic.  He is kneeling down with his arms around his young son who is crying and holding on to his father in obvious fear.  To the left of them and separated by several feet is Princess Cupcake in an obvious rage shaking her fists and screaming.  The billboard text reads, “What are you teaching your sons?”

I think such a campaign would be much more effective now and would reframe the legal/societal perceptions of men by focusing on the trauma our children experience.  YMMV,,,

Had a discussion with a woman soon after going my own way a few months ago.

Her: “Why aren’t you with anyone?  You don’t like women?”
Me: “Dating is a waste of time.”
Her: “Were you treated badly by your ex’s or something?”
Me: “You could say that.  Having one beat on you is not the best feeling in the world.”
Her: “OMG!  What did you do to have her go off on you like that?

I looked at her, shook my head, and walked away.  If anything, that’s the mindset of women.  If a man is beat and said “I didn’t hit back,” the argument is instead “what did he do to make her go that crazy on him?”

Good point AussieBloke. MRAs are trying to have a reasonable dialog with insane beasts, and that is utterly impossible. The enemies of men know exactly what they are doing when they exercise of control of their hell hounds. MRAs actually think these feminists, manginas and white knights are going to realize the folly of their ways. MGTOWs recognize this fact and adjust accordingly. MRAs are just p~~~ing into the wind.

Soul Man: I’m visualizing your billboard and the 24/7 media coverage of the rent-a-mob protesters. LMBO too which is very good for me as I’m recovering today from getting food poisoned by some stupid c~~~s not tending food properly at a well advertised US national chain restaurant which I will never visit again.

    @ Soulman:
I wish I could like that idea 10 more times…

An ad I think a few other men would like to see: Two well dressed identical twin brothers sit side by side facing camera. Neither is visibly injured or upset.

Caption reads: “One of these men will never hit a woman, even when assaulted by one. The other will react with similar violence and put a woman in the hospital for it. If you’re a woman and you can’t tell the difference, don’t take that first swing…”

Look, it's not my fault that tornado dropped a house on your sister. Now get back on your broom and get your ass out of here... and take your monkeys with you
