I’m a July person, and I can’t stand the weather we’re getting here in Chicago. We had 8 inches of snow last weekend, 9 inches this weekend and then it’s going to be below 0 next week. I can’t stand cold and snow. It’s not even yet winter and we’re getting the s~~~s from Nature. Hopefully this winter will be like the one we had last year, where our worst if not most of our snow fell before Thanksgiving and was not big deal after that. However, they are predicting a miserable winter this year.
Seriously, I don’t know how some of you MGTOWs can deal with it when it comes to camping, because being cold and wet has got to be one of the worst feelings there is.

Dude, where are you?!
I’m in NW Indiana. South suburbs originally.
And how did you grow up here not spending winter days on a sheet of ice or sledding?!
Just f~~~in’ with ya. My dad and sister left the state for your very reasons.
Fuck this planet.Kane County. Western suburbs.
In my opinion, there is nothing pleasant about winter; it’s cold, it’s snowy. I hate shoveling it, I hate driving in it, I hate being wet and cold together, I hate slipping on ice, and extreme cold doesn’t feel good either. Unlike summer time, I can’t go outside with my shirt off on my bike.
There’s only one thing I like about winter and that’s Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
You’re from NW Indiana? Man, you guys get nothing but lake effect snow, tons of it.

You’re out past Schaumburg. My cousins lived there, and I remember it being a hell of a drive.
Yup. We get lake effect snow from Chicago and Michigan City. Portage drifts like Hoth.
Can’t say many people don’t agree with you.
I’m a winter junkie myself. Free ice!
Fuck this planet.Schaumburg where Woodfield Mall is are like 45 minutes away. I’m south of Elgin, north of Aurora.
Well I’m a summer person. I love having my shirt off outside. It’s off now, but I’m inside. I like bike riding that way. Christmas is the only good thing about winter. After that, the snow and cold is bulls~~~.

Anonymous54With ya RE7!
I hate winter. When I was a kid up in BostonI koved it.
July is my favorite month. Here in Tennessee you put your jacket away in spring, and dont need it till fall.
80 degrees at midnight. Yea Man!
ResidentEvil7, winter in the city is pretty s~~~ty. But when you have good quality warm clothes, just like Stealthy said, winter can be a f~~~ing blast.
I live in Metro Detroit and at this very moment am waiting for the leading edge of the storm that just dumped on you to dump on me. Time to swap out the summer tires on my fat bike for my set of studded snow tires and hit the trails!
Have you ever built an igloo? It’s a lot of work but it’s awesome fun. And warm. I sleep in mine. You ever snowshoe? It’s so much fun. So relaxing. Buy good ones and then get out there.
This year I plan on learning the basics of ice fishing. Why? Because last winter I learned that delicious whitefish come to the shallows and congregate where rivers or streams dump into Lakes Michigan, Huron or Superior. So this otherwise deepwater fish that requires a s~~~-tonn of gear and boat to catch in the summer is a mere stroll from shore in winter.
Back to the fat bike and studded snow tires. After the ice is thick enough, the Coast Guard declares the Ice Road open from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island. And since I learned this year that one restaurant/bar stays open all winter long, a buddy and I are going to ride our fat bikes across frozen Lake Huron to the island, have lunch, and then ride back. Pure fun!
Winter, it’s all in how you look at it.
Anonymous43I used to live near Chicago…in northern Will county and in Dupage and DeKalb county. LOL snow sucks dude…its 50 where I escaped to….lol
I miss the civilization, you can keep the snow
In some ways I don’t like winter, but in other ways its kinda nice.
Went out the back door at work and there was a moderate snow fall going on. The sky was blue and obscured by clouds with the sun peaking out in the middle. Made for a magical scene.
Try living in Ireland. We don’t have seasons, it’s always grey, raining and cold with a few sunny days thrown in for good measure. It’s only gone past 4 and it’s dark ffs!
Anonymous11It’s really nothing down here compared to up there. Be safe.
I’m using this cold snap to kill a few fruit flies living in my home. The damn orange trees attract them then the little bastards setup shop inside your house happily munching the mold that lives inside your drains. It beats drain flies though.
I got it down to 52F(11C) inside last night. 57F(14C) terminates the little tropical bastards. Try doing that to solve a little problem with a woman in your life.

I still remember the blizzard of 79. When I left Chicago at age 19—I never looked back. Of course the winters I suffered through in Iowa and West Virginia were pretty bad too—BUT NOT ANY more here in North Florida its sunny and 70. YEAH BABY!

The woman who f~~~ed up my life lives just down the road from you. I hope she and her cats freeze they’re c~~~s off in the little trailer park! Now she is officially trailer park trash! And I guess with all the snow she’s not going to be able to bike her precious little prairie path. (Yes she lives for that) WHAHHHH for her.
Move south brother!

Good times!
I was 7 in the Blizzard of ’79!
Snow tunnels!
Edit: Excuse me while I eat my words. Have to go shovel my car out to get to work.

What are you getting for Xmas this year RE7?

My brother was born during the blizzard of 79. February 1979.

Nothing special. Spending cash, a DVR, an indoor plugin grill, continuation of my Norton Security, non stick frying pan (ours are as old as me and I’m 34), PlayStation Network card, Hickory Farms box packages.
I missed it when Hickory Farms were in the malls; I used to get a shopping cart full of those boxes after Christmas when the prices dropped. I spent my Christmas money on it when the deals were good. Those were the days. Now you can only find small boxes of it at the grocery stores and not in the malls. I really should look at the website, because I love those sausages and cheeses and mustards.

It may not be there anymore but there was a small Ukrainian owned “meat-market” in Winfield. They had lots of foreign imported sausages and cheeses really good—of course that was 35 years ago sooooo they may not be there anymore.
I wouldn’t know about Winfield, except that I was born at the hospital and there’s a military museum and garden and mansion nearby.

If it snows, it isn’t that cold. When it’s freezing, wrap that beartrap Stealthy posted around your head. Most body heat escapes from the head. 60% or so if I’m not mistaken. Right now there isn’t much snow where I live.

As you can see, there’s not much to show right now.

The museum is/was dedicated the US first div. the BIG RED ONE! I used to ride the prairie path out there in the summer. The vehicle part of the museum was epic tanks etc. Its worth the trip!
