Anyone want to post any other articles on what other nations are trying to do? It happens. Israel and others try to influence American politics. Russia is one of them also. It is cheaper to do things this way, than go to war.

I would say more like controls, not influences, and this is exactly why the Russiaphobia of late, it is because Russia is stopping s~~~ from doing down that Israel wants, like in Syria, and will surely come to the aid of Iran if Israel gets the U.S. or the Saudis to invade. All the U.S. has been doing since 01′ is taking out one ally after another of Iran, all to the detriment of global opinion of the U.S., it’s financial well being, and sometimes even the death of it’s sons, but as we can all see, it’s still Israel first even under Trump.

I say influence, instead of control. While there is a desire to control, too much chaos and X factor stuff prevents any government from really controlling anything. There is a desire to control, but it falls shorts. At best, you get influence, and some work at the margins that can tip. But, it will often fail. This is particularly true in open societies. The rate of change is large going on, like the Crypto arena, where governments want to tax it, and not screw it up, so they undermine their ability to tax it.

The Arab Spring started out with a local merchant setting himself on fire, to protest bribery, and it caused a ton of chaos and gave a basis for ISIS. There is blowback and tons of other unexpected things that happen. Too many black swans also.

So, with this, I say influence.
