I understand Tough Love and am not too sensitive. Many of you gave me good advice. I just extended my work hours and wish to do more. As a CDL driver, government screw-ups get in my way and fixing them is a slow process. My first priority is not divorcing my wife but saving my house from a roof already leaking. I had the money saved up to fix it last year but my wife got it after I was stupid enough to have compassion for her tears. I have worked all my life but lack money, that is my problem. I’m not asking for a hand-out, my mistakes are my claim. You told me to get a lawyer but they do not come for free. I am trying to work myself out of this. I am not asking for pity but for you to understand that it all takes money and my next tax return will go towards my roof. I must save my home and anything else has to wait. I hope you understand.

I could be free from debt and be OK with $20,000 but must earn it in a place where wages are low. Perhaps, I could go over the road with retraining but I cannot abandon the little buddy that saved my life last year. My wife betrayed me for another but Oscar saved my from suicide and I cannot abandon my Dachshund. I am driving a 1989 Buick Century with no muffler but am starting to see why it is called a “Century”, they are made to last a century.

So there you have it. I make less than $15 an hour and doing my best not to be a homeless vagrant. I may be a loser but I will stick to my principals. My first step came a year ago when I kicked my wife out but recovery will take years. The emotional part is easier than the economical part when one makes stupid mistakes like showing compassion for a cheating wife. It goes beyond being ADHD, I am just a dumb f-ck. I started 2018 with frozen pipes and 7 pipe bursts after the thaw and if not for a close neighbor, I would be far worse off. Ever gone 10 days with frozen pipes? You will not like s~~~ting in a bucket. We got it fixed for the most part and it will not happen again. My home is little more than a “Shotgun House” with PVC pipes. Yet, it is MY home and MY POS car, paid for! That makes me better off than most of my neighbors unless they draw a government check. I would rather not as I am a free man and veteran.

You do whatever it is that YOU have to do; That’s what going YOUR WAY is all about.

Yes, I would definitely agree that living in a house with a non-leaking roof, heat, and operable plumbing comes before attorney’s fees.

Just keep Living as if YOU are Divorced, and look around for maybe some form of low income legal services/aid that could assist you in getting the ball rolling.

YOU owe it to YOURSELF to at least look into it.

I think you understand. The first step is survival and that is where I am. I wish to do more but living low is better than giving up.

    LOL!

Ever gone 10 days with frozen pipes?

We just restored water for my brother’s house, his well failed the night before the blizzard almost two weeks ago. I have two breaks to repair in my garage after the heat failed the day I came home from surgery, during the Arctic invasion with temperatures way below MOTHERF~~~ING ZERO!

The good news is the rocket stove didn’t freeze from sitting since fall when my illness stopped me from functioning. It froze a couple years ago prompting me to add a s~~~load more antifreeze, I’ll be firing it today for it’s first full day of burning, I’m almost out of processed firewood but have plenty of plastic and motor oil (over 200 gallons). When I was supposed to be splitting firewood (late summer) I was sitting on my ass in agony! Now I’m back to almost 100%!

Sparky, did you consider covering your roof with a tarp or tar and aluminum flashing spot repairs? Water soaking the wood structure can do considerably more damage and attracts wood eating insects.

I’m happy to see you’re in one piece and still running!

Godspeed brother, I’ll say a prayer for you as always!

sometimes lawyers work pro bono for free…I think they get brownie points from the Bar Association for that. If you don’t ask, you will never know what is possible.

You’ve shown more strength in the face of adversity than I and many others could. Remember that when you wake each day you are one day closer to a better life. Keep us posted my friend.

I’ve got my own issues but yours sound worse. Just be thankful every morning when your feet hit the floor, YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR DESTINY.

I always told my son as he was growing up, ; “It doesnt matter who signs my paycheck, I work for YOU”

Since you didnt mention kids I’m assuming you dont have any… SO you need to affirm yourself EVERY MORNING. Dont give up bro. Life is s~~~ sometimes, but you can make it through.

You aren’t a loser – delete that from your vocabulary.

stay focused on your home and keep moving forward.

So, what is the bitch doing now? It sounds like she isn’t trying to get your belongings – and if so, it doesn’t really matter if you get a lawyer right now.

What is your long term plan – can you get additional training and increase your wages?

You’ve got a plan, Sparky. You’re working it. You aren’t a loser… you’re a man! Men’s capacity to cope is truly awe inspiring. They say that a man’s character is forged in the fires of adversity. You will only come out of all this much stronger!
