Probably going to be like an old man’s wet fart in comparison to a Gulf of Mexico one, but they’re predicting the worst storm to hit Ireland in 50 years.
Sky is a weird yellow colour outside and its just after 10am here. Going to go down the beach later to watch the cute little waves.
Anonymous43I hope you are ready for it amigo!

Anonymous11Those winds are enough to do damage. You can add in about a 25% speed increase for the gusts.
Anonymous42Stay away from old masonry and tile structures (chimneys), you could get buried under a pile of bricks and tiles. Tape your plate glass and lower level windows if you live where flying debris can be expected, fiberglass packaging tape works best.
Watch out for widow makers, everything that’s rotted, decayed, and rusted through is gonna tear off and fly! Anyone on the slow moving side can expect allot more rain than the advancing side with the direction of the storm.
You guys are in for a ride! Stay inside and expect to loose power! Stay away from fallen power lines, you never know if someone is back feeding it with a home generator.
Good luck UK! Year of the HURRICANES!
I got by unscathed! That’s why I’m working on winter snow removal equipment! Things in motion tend to stay in motion!
Buckle up brother and prepare for the coming storm…Good luck and stay safe…

Cheers fellas, seems the storm will hit the north east coast this evening local time.
“Strengthening south to southeast winds, gale to severe gale later with storm force winds possible along the east coast late afternoon and evening.”I hope you are ready for it amigo!

I was on for an hour daytime your time. Pretty big crowd on so I just listened in, its a great way to socialise with other members.
Please be safe and keep us posted .
frankly my dear i don't give a damn
Pint of the black stuff guvana
Peace is > piece.
First death reported in County Waterford, tree fell on a car killing one.
Best of luck CU and I hope that your property also escapes damage. Hopefully you have enough supplies and resources on hand in the event that the storm causes considerable damage.

Good luck man but take it from an Irma survivor—tropical storms ain’t s~~~. Just a little breezy.
Anonymous6Electricity going on and off, fierce howling wind and a tree uprooted in the garden, waiting for the other tree to snap like a matchstick, damn nature is powerful!

Where are you mate? I took a walk down the harbour at 4pm, pretty nasty winds.
By a quirk of the coast here I’m actually facing north at the foot of a Glen (valley). The wind is offshore and blowing up our arses along the North Channel from the south. Even so at low tide there were big breakers coming into the bay, hitting the high tide mark.
9pm is high tide (3hrs time) and they’ve shut the whole coast road waiting for a surge. I’m in the pub now and a farmer has come in from the hills above us, power is out up the mountain and might hit us shore dwellers very soon. I’m getting my beer jacket sorted now in case it does.
3 dead down south.

Not too far from Dublin.
This is some high tide. It’s come over the bay wall north side but not enough to cause havoc. The village river is right at the gunwales, sandbags are out.
Haven’t seen a tide like this in ages, going to be a lot of wreck washed in, be a good day to beachcomb tomorrow. Love it.
Be safe and make sure that you let folks know what you are doing. Remember your Horror Movies, anyone who goes out alone to look at things becomes bait for whatever is waiting outside.
Glad that you are enjoying yourself. Peace.
