Stumbled into this slight epiphany, and slight idea. I was chatting with a close friend on facebook, only thing I really do, plus can’t really text her because of an issue with her phone service (lives in a different country, Argentina, and I live in the states). There was a mixup with her Wifi, and so she had to stop the conversation. Got bored, so went to my “feed” to see what’s new. I don’t mind homosexuals, previously stated friend is a lesbian and pretty much a dude as myself, but only her was exempt from the madness. No private thoughts anymore, apparently, and so everyone was coloring their profile pictures with the “gay flag”, and writing about how “proud” they are of the legislation. Kept thinking to myself, referencing the office “we need a new plague”. Then I realized that we ARE the plague. Human beings were created with the singe-most deadly weapon, our brain. Deadly creativity, stunning intelligence, but most importantly our insatiable greed. Draining the Earth’s resources, killing the planet, and killing other lifeforms. Millions of years in the making, human beings are the end of the earth. Overpopulation only further consumes resources, new technologically-advanced weapons could wipe the earth clean, and corporations industrializing everything. We are killing ourselves since the ending of time, violence and TRUE oppression reign (Syria, Venezuela, and a smattering of others), and yet most sit by idle. Feminists and SJW complain about the “patriarchy”, “rape culture”, “oppression”, riots because ONE MAN is killed, and yet no such reaction to help the homeless, the starving, or the wounded. Christ, I am disgusted. More and more of these “things” (won’t even sully the word “people” to describe them), are doing stupid s~~~ for half-assed reasons. Can’t wait to ghost the f~~~ out of here, thinking of going to the north-west corner of Alaska. Any thoughts on this, or a place where I can at least hear my own thoughts without some Feminazi bitch from yelling? Florida is full of those c~~~s.

The thing is: Earth was here before us, and will continue to be for a long time after we are gone. We won’t wipe out the earth, it will wipe us out, as soon as our greed goes out of hand. It gives us a strange satisfaction to know that we are responsible for earth when in reality we are nothing but a teardrop in the eye of infinity.

Looking to go monk mode for the life. I have excellent recommendations but you need to specify what exactly would you like in physical terrain, climate etc.

I think if there was truly a location paradise out there all MGTOWs would be there. There are always going to be advantages and disadvantages to where you choose to live. You can also check out the Venus Project and the Zeitgeist Movement. They promote a society redesigned and based on resources and science, it’s interesting stuff.

Ignore the conspiracy theory stuff in the first Zeitgeist movie, nothing positive will come from watching that, but the economical stuff is quite good in all 3 Zeitgeist movies.

Not everyone agrees with everything, but as humans we can definitely do better. I enjoyed the new Cosmos series as well…

China has stuffed up it’s soil to the point where it can’t grow anything without getting sick from it, it is also leveling mountain ranges and creating man made islands. It is over populated to the point of not being able to breathe in certain areas. India is in a similar situation. Both countries not considered “The West”.

Africa is mostly arid desert due to no one including African’s giving a f~~~ and South America has some of the most violent nations on Earth. The whole planet is screwed it has nothing to do with The West, in fact The West are the only nations who are trying to or at least talking about the problems.

The West are one of the few who make any effort to protect it, infact the West has become so obsessed with it that it’s actually killing us economically. China and Russia are amongst the top worst polluters on the planet.  Africa has plenty of it’s own problems too, the native people have polluted it by allowing garbage to pile up and not practicing proper sanitation measures.

We are the most narcissistic species on this planet, every other species take and use what they need to survive, humans take and use what they want. I do want to live on this planet, just not where the great mayority of people are. The farther away from the city (or urban locations) usually the kinder and warmer people are to each other. Throughout my childhood in Venezuela I lived in Caracas (has been the 2nd most dangerous city in the world for like 10 years straight, I left 6 years ago or so), and people were brutal. Hell, first year away was difficult because things were so quiet, no gun shots, no screaming, and no sirens. But while living there, every weekend I’d go to the beach with my folks, and people there were some of the nicest, warm-hearted people i’d ever met. Couple of emergencies would happen, but still there were such few people in the area everyone knew everyone, and that made it “cozier”. Now that relaxing beach town is a septic tank of prostitution, gang life, and death. Since it was a  vacation spot, and the weather was so nice, more and more people flocked there, causing this. Because of this I’m planning on ghosting somewhere so inhospitable, prefferably “artic” cold, so that people won’t arrive in such numbers. Thought northern-most tip of Alaska was a nice place, but only time will tell.

@rennie Really? Can you blame them? Can’t you see the hypocrisy?
First the European countries burned tons and tons of carbon fuels to get ahead of the rest of the world, most of which were colonies (read slaves) of European countries. Then came America, it too did the same thing and no one in the world batted an eye. Now the BRIC countries are trying to do the same after decades of subjugation, all the first world countries are flipping out saying that their economic development comes at the cost of the environment. REALLY? 
Where the reality is that those countries can’t even afford to take measures proposed by the 1st world countries. I guess that’s why Putin as well as Modi asked Obama to kiss their asses after being invited for a “green world” convention.

We are NOT destroying the Earth. We are just destroying ourselves, the Earth will just become inhabitable (doesn’t mean it won’t exist) and we’ll be extinct. We are assuming “The Earth will cease to be as soon as humans are extinct” as if the Earth is nothing without humans. Ah! the arrogance!

This reminds me of a Sci Fi movie I saw once called “Virus”, where aliens decided to wipe out humanity because we collectively act as a Virus.

The alien said something like “Viruses consume everything they can, breed as fast as possible – and do it until they are all out of resources and die.  Therefore humans are a dangerous Virus.”

I live within 40 miles of the coast, but my house sits 400′ above sea level – not too worried about global warming…

I don’t know what biology class you guys took, but in my school they taught us that CO2 is essential for life. Judging by some of the stuff said in this thread I’m guessing we’re heading back to the dark ages again, but it was good while it lasted.

I fail to see how any of this is my problem. I have no children to bequeath the earth to when I’m gone. I have no stake in the future. It seems to me I should enjoy as much of the earth as I can while I can and let the future take care of itself.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go increase my carbon footprint in as loud, fast, and curvy a way as possible.

the problem is not the co2 level. humans can for example live in some 4200 ppm co2 world with the ocean 80 m above what is now. this is no problem

but this is ok ONLY if we get to 4200 ppm in like million years. now we jumped from 200 ppm to 403 ppm in almost no time (500 years). such abrupt excursion will disrupt food chains an can and will pose a real threat to civilisation – NOT the life on earth

to put it simple

co2 insane excursion => changing wether and failing crops (plus new pests migrating from lower latitides) => famine => failed states => war => colpase of civisation. the homo sapinens will survive. most likely stone age style

The problem isn’t the CO2 level? Then what have all these global warming/climate change people been going on about for the last 10 years?

Furthermore as long as there are plants and trees, the CO2 level will never become problematic because we have this thing called photosynthesis in which CO2 plays a key role, the byproduct of this process is the release of O2.
