This a long video. But my god is it worth watching. I would try to be in a happy state of mind. Its not for the faint of heart.

It does have a good ending. But my lord.. No wonder they want you to forget about war.

This may not be appropriate, but I’m starting to have serious doubt that anyone who says they are a historian did not just copy and paste their findings from a manuscript.

Kind of like how the MSM news does it from the Associated Press articles. etc.

I’m going to have to pick up these books and read them. Its going to take a while since I never read books all that often. I buy them! I put them on a book case. But I never get around to reading them. One day, I may just go camping or something and do this.

Its strange that the only real books I got to read that made my mind grow was Mice and Men that I remember. And Johnny Tremain.

What has always bothered me is that I have not heard more first hand accounts of things from real people. And I really have not taken the time to read more about these great masterworks of literature. He mentioned I think 5 to 6 of them in his lecture. I still have not read all of Niche. Or others. I should.

It may be a waist. But I’m kind of saving these for when I can go to Book readings. I tend to really focus in when I read a book. In Jail, I was glad I read I think 5 of them. What really makes me wonder is that I don’t really see many books about war. Its also strange I did not see any books like the ones featured there.

I still would like to read Mein Kampf one day. I have a strange feeling that it would be best to read that with a group of scholars rather then by myself. Books seem to be an easy way to promote something that may not be there. So its good to have a level headed mind explain things.

I still have yet to look over notes that I took when I read Alan Turing’s works. I sort of wish we had more people like this in our government sphere. People who are well read and have solid values. But alas, we have people that I think have never even read a Comic book as our elected officials.

Its almost the same with Journalists. I don’t see many Conservative well read people in the public eye anymore. Its a real shame.

Another great article on how he was kept in Starvation for 7 months in jail. This really hits home a bit as there was a fat black dude in jail that was put on a diet since he was overweight. The dude use to cry about being hungry. That’s really fooked up.

It makes me glad some people never lose their faith in god.

I’d agree with most of the above, except that the reason for 3rd world poverty, has more to do with poor governance and corruption, than anything else. There are plenty of black and brown people doing well in America. And the ‘homeless problem’ in American cities such as LA, is not caused by illegal immigrants, but drug addicts. Somehow the illegals engage in a strange activity called ‘work’, and are thus not homeless.

If you actually watch the footage of that Seattle City Council Meeting, you will realize that Rudy Pantoja himself, is a Chicano. The protesters rudely interrupted him when he thanked the police for helping his daughter get help for her heroin addiction, asking ‘is she white’?

I agree with Peterson on guilt by association with race, gender, or ethnicity being very problematic — ‘white privilege’, ‘male privilege’, etc has entered the lexicon.

I’m not seeing a move towards authoritarianism in America, but rather, a gradual reduction in economic freedom, as the State spends an ever-greater fraction of GDP, and increases regulation. Gun rights have actually increased in most area, with concealed carry being permitted in many States.

There are congress cretins who wish to tear down Section 230 protecting free speech. But so far, we’re free to criticize our officials.

There isn’t much appetite for intelligent, balanced media in America. I’d concur with Peterson’s assessment that American primary and secondary schools do a terrible job of teaching history — or anything else for that matter. Most people would not even know that there are approximately 120,000 people detained in modern work camps in North Korea as I write this. Sure, I read Solzhenitsyn in a public High School, but that was in the late 1980’s — and only part of optional courses that a small fraction of the students were enrolled in.

It’s important to keep in mind, both the modern left and right can be authoritarian; look at Franco in Spain or Pinochet, or Iran — authoritarianism is not ‘owned’ by the Left or Right. The Nazis, for instance, were socially conservative, nationalistic, and anti-egalitarian. Sure, ‘socialism’ may have been in the name of the party, but like the Chinese ‘communist’ party, they are not collectivizing ANYTHING.

Look at results, not talk. When the US elected Republicans, did government spending decrease and disposable income increase? No. And it certainly didn’t go that direction with Democrats either.

An occasional rebellion, despite the loss of life, may have value — the old Jefferson quote, ‘the tree of liberty must be refreshed periodically by the blood of patriots and tyrants’, in his letter to Stephens — that was relating to Shay’s Rebellion. This is how I defend the 2nd Ammendmant. That, and telling friends and colleagues the Second, is integral to the First. Then I note that I really don’t give a s~~~ about hunting and sport shooting. Gun Rights are so that the Government fears the people, rather than the people fearing the government. That is rather tough talk in the social circles I engage with (I am a middle-aged professional).

Another thought to consider: Both Hugh Mongus (Rudy Pantoja) and Zarna Joshi cleaned up as a result of this altercation, through GoFundMe. So both benefited.

I could not actually find what Zarna Joshi does for a living on the internet. She appears to be a professional social justice warrior?
