Anonymous42I’m looking into building a cell phone relay tower to bring service to this darkened place, brought back allot of knowledge about RF gain, feedback, and stuff I learned when I was 16 and installed my own CB home station, a little dish technology basics too.
The search kept revealing how to go through your android for home internet service, I had to search “homemade cell phone tower” to find what I want. This way I can kill my 4.99 monthly callcentric internet access landline phone. It’s just like fishing for a sattellite signal through a dish and RF gain meter, which I have all the tools and equipment. I’m adding this to my list of wise expenditures that cancel out other expenditures. One phone bill, not TWO! Even if it is only 4.99 a month, call anywhere anytime.
I’m always sharpening my cheap-f~~~ like a surgeons scalpel! Slice slice slice, cut the bills away!
Posted this for anyone interested in creating cell signal amplifier and transmitter, he says it even works in SNOW!

linear amplifier, you can reach other continents hooking one of these to your home CB!
Drawback: All the complaints from local CB enthusiasts for stepping all over them and the LOUD ANNOYING PING!
My handle was Pumpkinhead when I was 16, in case any of you guys from Europe, Alaska, or Texas happen to remember, skipping off the atmosphere like Minnesota fats shooting pool!
I’m getting an old vacuum tube ham radio too!
Nice to be a kid again! Oh wait, what am I saying? I NEVER GREW UP!

P.S. I also read that an 18″ satellite dish will capture, deflect, and focus a cell tower signal if it’s aimed at the cell tower and the phone is placed where the LNB should be, but you must look stupid with a satellite dish bolted to you head and aimed appropriately! It’s probably true, the tiny dish parabolic surface can see the high frequency wavelength whereas VHF wavelength goes by undetectable as it needs an 8ft circumference with corresponding dish depth to catch a ball that large and spread out.
I passed this on to my brother. Thanks very much. He would be interested in this for the cottage.
If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.A friend built something like this. It worked well for him. I am not so gifted so I bought an antenna, amplifier, and internal antenna. I bought this thing that is suppose to do like 70db gain. https://cellphonesignalbooster.us/connect-4g-x-for-large-home-or-building-weboost-471104/
It works but still you’ve got to get the antenna set right. You almost need to take a class in the subject. How to locate strong towers and block them. So I got all this hardware but it is just barely acceptable. What I really need is somebody that can be paid to set it up correctly. (I’m an amateur radio nut and have a lot of electrical engineering from school so I’m not kidding when I say it is difficult to setup correctly.)
