    Hey fellas,

I unc~~~ed from a toxic female late last year. That felt great.

I still feel s~~~ty and empty though. It is not because of her. My job has been draining my soul for the last 2 years. I want to unc~~~ from it.

I work at a non-profit agency composed of somewhere between 500 and 1000 employees. It was 2000 during this time last year but half of our work force was terminated or quit. 80% of staff or females. The infrastructure is a s~~~ show.

My predecessor took all of her things and just quit one day. Leaving everything is disarray. I was a naïve, 21 year old, on-call employee at the time and graciously excepted the offer to fill in for her. Big mistake! .

For the last 2 years, I’ve busted my ass to keep this thing afloat. I’m the only person that can do my job. There is no training manual and no trained, backup employees. I’m it. Carrying a huge load.

This job is so stressful. They took 3 different positions and squished them all into one. That’s right. I’m 3 employees. That plus overtime doing other people’s jobs really takes its toll on my mental and physical health. I have stress lines on my face and look like I’m 29 or 30, but I’m actually 23. Even though I live a healthy lifestyle.

I have some college, but quit so I could work more. I don’t get paid very much. $14.99 and hour before deductions. $11.46 after. I have full medical, dental, and vision insurance with high premiums.

I want to quit, but my entire unit would crumble into ashes. They are so dependent on me. I just cant do this anymore. For a year, I’ve asked for help, but admin never takes it seriously.

I have some money saved up. My apartment is $450 a month. Car insurance $120. I can go to a food bank if I’m tight on funds. I really don’t need a whole lot of money to get by.

I’d rather flip burgers and have little responsibility than stay here and kill myself slowly with paperwork and HR bulls~~~.

Here is what I’m going to do to do:

    1. Update my resume and references.
    2. Find a job where very little is expected from me, get and interview, and set a start date a week or a month from hiring date.
    3. Give my employer 2 weeks or a month’s notice.
    4. Cut fat from my expenses. Eat beans and rice. No entertainment, but books and free library internet. Use a burner phone. Go to planet fitness instead of high priced gym, etc.

Life will get harder financially, but at least I won’t stay awake all night thinking about scheduling clients and semi-annual reports.
Time to escape blue pill hell!

I’ve lived on that little for many years. It can be done. I have some good news/bad news.

Good news: YOU can find a job where nothing is expected from you

Bad news: The job title is Hobo—the pay sucks.

    Lost 70 lbs.
    Gained 5+ yrs life span.
    Happiest MF on the planet.

$12. in the checking account today (Monday) and bills paid, enough food til Friday: payday.

Beat them all again for another month!

Municipal, County, or a trade or assembly or transportation or freight. Most business owners are having difficulty finding non-druggie, dependable employees. Sometimes the start pay sucks and you have to prove out to get the good position.

Sounds like you are quite the reluctant but good manager.
Management is fun but I did my tour and if I’m not working for ME, no thanks.

MRHOW really has the correct answer. Tradesman. EVERYONE sooner or later needs the car repaired, the plumbing fixed, the electricity turned on etc. YOU’RE vital.

I just read member Blood-ax’s history. Guy works in concrete—CAN YOU IMAGINE what life would be like without guys like that? He is needed everywhere—everyday! A fine example to follow.

I appreciate the concern shown here, but a little ironic given your screen name 🙂

One of the hardest but best things I learned in my career was that, despite my perception of my irreplaceability, the world won’t fall apart if I leave a job. I call it the “Sudden Death” principle. If I suddenly died tomorrow, no matter the situation my employer/fellow employees would find a way to work it out and carry on. Happens all the time.

You are not responsible for the organization’s inability to stay afloat, manage their decline well, and not be ready for any employees’ departure. You should not feel bad for a moment to just leave when you are ready, on your terms. It may adversely affect some folks you work with, but ultimately that is not your fault or responsibility, and hopefully it will also prompt them re-examine why they are staying themselves.

That sounds a little cold, but I’ve been on the other side and have first hand knowledge of how willing management/executives are to take advantage of your sense of loyalty/responsibility, even to your detriment.

Just get out now and find another job before you go nuts. If things collapse after you leave it wasn’t your fault. Life/work will go on for them. Most non-profits have a natural birth-apex-decline phase and clinging to the past causes pain for all involved.

It is for very good reasons the Devil chose to tempt Eve not Adam...

Dude go into your office clean your stuff out give them all the finger and walk out. The job is stressful and untenable there’s nothing you can do about it but leave for your own health and sanity. Don’t feel bad about everyone else no one there is a slave they can all leave as well.

This is the kind of mentality that kills men. quit brother quit. At 23 you shouldn’t be working a job anyway. We should be traveling living life to the fullest and loving Every second of it.

I can fully relate to this, also in my early 20s and have a stressful job for 3 years. Doing unpaid overtimes for the past 4-5 months now, cant sleep properly at night due to thinking over work. You can actually feel you’re dying inside.

What I am doing so far is studying to get into the field I am interested in but that would take me a year or so which is a bummer. One of the crucial things I realized in life is you can be the richest bastard in the world but if you’re miserable, whats the use?

I’d rather live within my means and be happy/satisfied with life – at least when Im 80 and on my deathbed, I’ll be able to die with a smile on my face.

This, also, is why I chose the lifestyle of a MGTOW cause at least I dont have to worry about a woman dragging me by the b~~~~ or nagging me.

Your post is turmoil. The turmoil of starting out young . I can’t comment. I’ll keep it simple you have three basic choices:

    1) Work for the government
    2) Work for yourself
    3) Work for the private sector

I would rule out #3. That leaves 1 and 2. Your finding out what the private sector is in a non-profit setting. A rat race. Not worth it.

Working for the government is a better easier, safer, secure option that, in most cases, pays more than the private sector. You would not believe the perks many mid level government employees get. standard 40 hour weeks. Overtime at will. Flextime. Vacation days. Sick Days. Personal Days. Healthcare. Pension. This will continue until the U.S. goes bankrupt.

You can’t get anything like this in the private sector today.

Of course, the only problem with working for the government is, you have to live with yourself.

Yeah man, what are you doing? Go teach English in some crazy foreign country, make full time money for part time work, and couch-surf on the weekends. You are young. Go travel and bang lots of chicks and get paid for it by teaching English.

Working for the government is a better easier, safer, secure option that, in most cases, pays more than the private sector.

Good God, if he dislikes working for a nonprofit, he’ll HATE working for the government. Gray walls, no coffee, kissing boss’s poo-pucker, miserable coworkers, nagging women 97% of workforce, and mangina’s the other 3%, everything red tape. F~~~ that. He’s young! Go get paid to get laid.

Bring your resignation letter to the boss. Ask (or demand) to have your pay immediately doubled for compensation of working three jobs and being irreplaceable. When they balk, hand in your resignation.

Yes you have a good plan. Go for it. Just remember a job that expects nothing from you pays accordingly and probably no prospects.

Brother, you’re only 23. You can apply at 3 temp agencies tomorrow and be working in two weeks tops. You’ll only be dealing with 10 percent of the workload starting out.

You’ve definitely got enough office experience to work anywhere. If the agency interviewer asks why you’re leaving your position. Say that the company you’re working for now is in the downsizing process. You don’t want to have a gap in your work history.

It wasn’t until I was in my mid twenties that I figured that type of stuff out. Think about it for a minute. A temp agency doesn’t make money unless they send out worker bees. You’re an expert level worker bee.

Temp agencies will put you in entry level positions with big corporations in your area. You’ll be able to handle those tasks with your eyes closed and probably make more money. Don’t let yourself be sold short. You can restart anywhere.
