All you have to do is steal the picture, remove the comment and make your own comments then its an original work they can sell and you get nothing.

That’s why I don’t often post my pictures on the internet and when I do I never post the “negative”, always reduce the quality and size so that only I have the raw image.

Don’t rely on the internal metadata either, it’s easily stripped off with so much as a format shift.

Yea not surprising, fb among other social med is loaded to the gills with scammers of every kind. Deactivated all my social media. Just to many attention starved women and idiot dudes, pasting and smearing their retarded opinions amongst each other.

If someone wanted to buy it couldn’t they just go to that istagram user and screen shot the photo of their choice?? lol

ALL these sites have in there small print, you giving over the rights of your images to them.

    ALL OF THOSE SITES

They will also use them to make money. A typical one is a calendar competition. They print 12 and then ‘sell on’ the other 12000 shots that didn’t win.

You are absolutely stupid if you post your photos on these sites.

Several times over the last few years I’ve had to take magazines to court for breaching my terms.

    They didn’t read my T&Cs

    Be warned.

instagram itself is known for stealing digital rights from photographers via schemey underhanded wording in their TOA. that won’t stop half the photographers on modelmayhem from being total idiots.

S~~~ like this is exactly why an industry that is only expanding is no longer even profitable for the professionals:

I was speaking with David Mecey, who used to be the staff photographer for playboy back in the day. He was telling me how its even impossible for him to freelance these days based on hack amateurs who underbid him on everything. They got a derogatory name for it, too, they call em GWCs or guys with cameras… Which is another way of framing the whole “you’re just trying to get laid” argument to discredit your professional life as well. But it never really gets used accurately, and i only ever see it flung around by GWCs themselves, with noisy grainy poorly lit photos of some ugly girl just pulling her shirt up. Mecey says the only ones who are making any money with photography these days are the agents, and those assholes who set up “group shoots” for the horny amateurs. You get money by getting people to pay you to build their portfolios. You don’t get paid by having one.
