OJ, rest, Nyquil, chicken soup with a lot of vegetables. Will help in the medium term.

    Keep hydrated and sleep brother.

I never get a flu shot either, but I did get a Tetanus shot with a Whooping Cough booster a few years ago because apparently whooping cough was making a comeback after people chose to stop vaccinating their kids.

Well, you should of got the flu shot.

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do other than rest and drinking lots of water.

I hope you feel better soon, Pete.

That’s been the best thing when I was sick with any kind of illness. Just sleep as much as you can and drink as much water as you can. Depending on how you feel at the time, lots of hot broth can be good also.

I suggest cooking a hot drink of ginger, lemon and honey. A typical potato sized piece of ginger will be enough for a big pot of drink. This hot drink always helps me. In theory, vitamin C can also help.

Warning! many anti-flu medicines contain paracetamol, and you should not take that if you choose to drink booze in that evening (or next half a day)! Alcohol and paracetamol together is likely to really damage your liver.

Also, give your clothes a hot wash and clean the floor with hot water and some bleach, and get some antibacterial soap.(flu and ‘common cold’ is not caused by cold but bacteria and viruses, only the immune system is somewhat weaker in the cold…) Avoid public transport, to not get more sick, I also got some flu when I had to ride bus (full of coughing people) for a week.

Seriously, drink lots of liquid so your kidneys don’t fail and back up from all the shattered and broken dead cells adrift in your blood, there’s a war going on inside you and the kidneys clean up all the dead bodies! No s~~~, not joking, drink and p~~~ and drink and p~~~ and drink and p~~~ until you feel better!

Water is the medium to remove all the dead s~~~ inside you!

Muriness cure is what I used to do in Law School. Drink a fifth of booze and then bundle up under lots of blankets and sweat it out—used to work but then I was a lot younger back then!

    Many thanks to everyone!

I agree. I like to drink, but alcohol lowers your immune system and dehydrates your body. Nothing is better for your body than water, especially when ill.

I also agree that a little alcohol can help you get to sleep, however, you need to drink even more water to counteract the dehydration that the alcohol causes.

    Prevention is the best cure.

2000 units of Vitamin D3 before bed every day is the best way to prevent the flu/colds. For $10 you can buy a big bottle that will last you a year.

You may get the flu, but it will be a mild version and it will be out of your system in 48 hours max. Unlike other people who are totally wasted for up to a week.

I haven’t missed a days work due to illness in 17 years and I can testify that taking Vitamin D3 at night every day is a big reason for it.

I’ve never had the flu shot and never will – vaccines are toxic.
