Just like the title says how many vets, current military (any component…even you Coast Guard), first responders, police (federal, state, county, municipal), corrections officers, and firemen do we have here? Also if you where/ are military, what was your MOS?

I was Military Police for 2 years pre 9/11. It was called 95B back then. My unofficial MOS was beer guzzling and skank wrangler.

Hey even if your a civilian type adjunct to the police this thread may just apply to you. Crime scene clean up comes to mind. Now that’s a tough job.

Former EMT-B, current wildland Firefighter 1/ICT 5 (squad leader). Also FF1 qualified for structure fire.

I used to be on USFS Hotshot crews. Those were fun times. I’m trying to get back into one of those crews, or on one of the Montana/Idaho smokejumper crews.

I’m a civilian now, but did a few tours as a Hospital Corpsman with the FMF or Fleet Marine Force. Work in the I.T. field now. Semper Fi!

B.C.F.C. Rescue Squad, a crack-unit with chainsaws, water pumps and firefighting equipment(hoses and nozzel).

This unit was formed after Town Officcial Fire Chief informed residents including myself that he “would not allow a 200,000 dollar fire truck to travel over these roads while they’re in this condition” , sighting that some of the roads have become completely impassable.
My own personal fire fighting equipment was acquired after receiving that letter and to date I haven’t had the time to hook it all up to the stream in my back yard, I do however try to maintain a 50ft or more clearing for the road in addition to over 18,000.00 dollars in grading, drains, and gravel.
i think I’m gonna suffer a setback on the synfuel refinery and use much of my steel pipe for the firefighting equipment and fire plug I’m installing between my neighbors house and mine, we already discussed fire drills. Unmanned, overgrown and abandoned forests are natural fire hazards in themselves. It’s all about being aware of your surrounding and taking measures necessary for your safety, prosperity, and happiness, relying on government can become LETHAL in many situations, such as the living conditions are here in Brookhaven Condemned Family Campground, West Brookfield, Massachusetts, U.S.A.

We’ve also established the Brookhaven Condemned Family Campground Militia in West Brookfield, Massachusetts, U.S.A., for other reasons similar to the establishment of the Rescue Squad and fire brigade.

A knifehand? I don’t know bro. I’ve been out for over 10 years. I was in Charlie 1/1 once upon a time in Camp Pendleton.

“Kill bodies, eat babies” how’s that?

I prided myself on remembering the general orders for over 5 years but they blur now. I still have it where it counts though and I haven’t gone full sloppy civilian yet.

I got all amped up the other day when an air force active duty kid (of all people) came in my place of business. He got me all motivated and s~~~ and I told him so.

He replied to me, “if you want, I can knifehand your ass to make you feel like youre still enlisted.” Had me laughing my ass off. I wish I had not been NJPed a lot, I wish I had been more disciplined and stayed in for a long long time. I truly was a good Marine and watched out for my platoon and stood up for the corps, a true believer. But I was an alcoholic and a rebel.

The good news is that 10 years later, after everything, I did not become one of those statistics (suicide). I came close, like on the operating table close. But now I’m free from any remorse or regret. I respect the service and enjoyed my time, wouldn’t trade it. But IF I could do it all over again, Id of stayed in until I made Gunny, get my 20 years and a pension and get out.

But the cards were not like that. I only made it to Lance Corporal (awarded in the field) and then was NJPed back to private and OTHed. I don’t give a s~~~ what anyone thinks. Certain men in my platoon know that the UCMJ is antiquated in many respects and that good men in the field who you’d want watching your six, aren’t always stellar Marines in Garrison and often fall short. We were young men… I’m not one to malinger and I got over any grudge I had years ago when I quit drinking. I made a life afterwards.

I definitely respect the corps and I still stand, at the f~~~ing POA (like a recruit) when the anthem is going. Semper kill !
