How far have we really come

Gentleman,
I recently watched a YouTube video entitled “REAL CONVERSATION: There are only two genders| Change my mind”. I will link below. My question is this however, as a society, how far have we really come? As of lately I am seeing videos of people questioning if the earth is flat, if there are more than two genders, etc.

It all kind of makes me sit back and wonder, have we truly made any progress from an intelligent/ intellectual standpoint? Do we not have better areas of interest to pursue? Time travel, space flight, medicine… anything? To me, it really feels like we are taking a step backwards as a whole. Not only as a society, but as an intelligent species.

Admittedly, I would have to say that it feels almost as if we are being purposely mislead down a treacherous path. As if the hot-button topics today are just a decoy to keep our attention off of far more important matters. But I can’t say exactly what. I don’t know where it started, how or why, but I do know it both feels wrong, and looks wrong on paper when examining, and taking inventory of the facts.

Have we come so far in society that we now start to turn inwards on ourselves from an intellectual/ intelligent stand-point? Are we just bored, feeling that we’ve reached the pinnacle of what we can learn, now choosing rather to question the things we knew as a readily apparent truth?

It almost feels like equality has become synonymous with a lack of logic and reason. When did it give way to a complete disregard for known and widely accepted facts? I can understand if the purpose of this exercise in ignorance was due to some newfound discovery which caused us to question the very fiber of reality around us. But this just isn’t the case.

I consider everyone here functions as both keepers and guardians of what feels like the last great bastion of sanity and reason. So does anyone else have any insight, opinion, inference as to why we society is moving backwards?

As stated I don’t think we’ll ever be rid of idiots. But at the same time, I do think the modern era of nobody left behind has had the effect of saving the weak and ignorant. I don’t argue for culling, however it’s a bit late to start on any legislation to keep the stupid from breeding, or to stop welfare programs from helping irresponsible “adults” and their accidents. The best we could hope for is stepping away from all the SJW nonsense in schools but I doubt that will happen now.

I both agree and disagree. Simply ignoring the problem isn’t going to make it go away. It’s intrusive and invasive, and simply not paying attention to it could prove disastrous in the grand scheme of things.

Evolution avg life span has increased due to health Science technology and the fact that we have no natural predators anymore, so all the retards that should have been killed off during wars famine old age now get to reproduce, in a hard patriarchy men would be slaughtering each other over resources and land only the true alphas would be around to breed have kids etc. So instead of the top % of humans around now we have everyone.
