Actually Tower, I just started playing with fire, ammunition, and randomly mixed chemicals on my own accord and never asked for permission from either parent. I used to take the gasoline from my Dad’s boat tanks so he knew too.

Right before my Mom passed, I asked her why she did not stop me, and she said I looked like I knew what I was doing. My old man taught me how to make gun powder and about the joys of melting lead. You would have loved the flame thrower I constructed. It could throw flaming gasoline about 30 feet.

We lived in the pre-helicopter parent era. They would have both of us on Ritalin drips strapped to a gurney today. I did get lots of well deserved ass whippings though from my Mom usually for running my mouth. My Dad knew my weakness was loving to roam the woods, creeks, and marshes and would confine me to my room as punishment. I wish he would have whipped me instead.

I hear ya bro, I remodeled our basement, put in a bar, pachinko machine, cheap pinball machine, air hockey, and we already has a slate pool table, I wired everything myself. I was only 15, and also didn’t ask for permission either, I had access to cabinetry tools on the other end of the basement, (dad’s workshop), we were also free to explore the entire area on our bicycles, we roamed the neighboring towns including a couple towns over at a wildlife sanctuary, within a year of living in the city at age 11, I knew the 1,200 acre City park like the back of my hand, it’s where we went ice skating for hours on end, I had no restrictions other than time limitations. My one friend’s Helicopter dad, punished him all summer for nothing, not kidding, NOTHING, he was a sick f~~~ that was seen in the queer hangouts giving blowjobs, he also molested his daughters. He split at 17, went into the armed services, and I never heard from him again….
