Hey Max, click on your avatar, on that page, go to the right of your large avatar, click on the “gear” symbol, from the drop down menu click “my account”, you’re there…

Thanks for adding that feature. It will probably come in handy someday.

Max use the contact form, send from your registered address and tell us what you want to change it to… and we will be happy to change your address. Will take care of it right away. Easy.

The reason you can’t change your email address is because it’s your “login”. Logins can’t be changed unless we do it manually for you. Your display name can be changed anytime but it’s standard practice that logins can’t be changed.

Its the one UNIQUE identifier for every member. There can be 101 “Johns” on the site, but only ONE member can log in with your email – and that’s you. When you join, it also verifies it as deliverable so you can recover your password etc. If you could easily change your email (just like that) you wouldn’t be “legit” and verified.

So we have to do it PROPERLY.

I guess that’s not a feature after all. Never mind. Should’ve checked first.

Common thought. Usually (on many sites) you can change it to whatever you want, but on other sites you log in with a “username”. We use emails as the login for several reasons – primarily because we don’t ask for anything else to verify you. No birthday. No “username”. No zip. No name. The email IS “you”.

Even your “display name” is just a label.

Changing your email/login not a problem – but we have to do it for you with a manual insert, and if we get an email from that address, then we know its legitimately you.

I agree with it. Helps keep things under control.
