In the middle ages marriage was just a ritual done by the church not based off of love but the transfer of wealth in where the husband would get a dowry from the chicks parents as a means of trying to bribe you into marrying her. Basically having a daughter is a liability and the family gifts you if you decide to marry a daughter. Divorce was rare and only would occur if your spouse or you cheated or you came out as a nonbeliever in old Christian country’s
In modern times marriage is essentially the celebration of a woman taking control of you. Because the marriage ritual today is just buying expensive s~~~ for a woman and having an expensive ceremony dedicated to the woman. The woman only has to make you fall in a drunken state of love so the beta providers will decide to spend a f~~~ton of money beginning with the engagement ring which the jewelry company got them to believe that they should spend 3 months of their salary on a ring. Aside from the overpriced rock weddings can cost anywhere from 18,000$ to 30,000$ all coming out of the man’s paycheck. And the wedding is just men watching another brother go down to hell waiting for the executioner to walk down the aisle since they know once he is on the other side he will be a changed man and the only way to break out is either death or divorce.
The old and new systems are way different and ill give an example of what the old and modern marriage system is (for humor mostly).
In the olden days the system would have been more like this and would follow these steps
1 Guy sees hot girl in dress and now he wants to bang her.
2 Has dreams about her revealing what is under her dress.
3 Guy goes to her father and requests marriage.
4 Father wants to get rid of the liability of his daughter
5 Father demands to prove that the guy is not a deadbeat or a queer
6 Guy proves it.
7 Father gives guy money to take her away.
8 Guy gets married.
9 Guy gets stuck with her for life as long as neither of them cheat then the cheater gets thrown in prison.
10 Guy dies at 42 from the flu.
Now compare that to modern marriage.
1 Guy finds used chick
2 Guy starts dating used chick
3 Used chick fools guy into paying 3 months of salary because of love.
4 Guy is too brainwashed to believe that the used chick could be cheating.
5 Chick demands that guy spends more money on her for the wedding because it is the most important day of her meaningless life.
6 They marry then she becomes a fat cow while the kids stress the guy out so he is not the same man as he used to be.
7 The fat cow becomes a total bitch and/or she cheats on him and shows him her true nature
8 The fat cow demands a divorce or keeps her cheating well hidden from the man.
9 The man loses everything in divorce court and is forced to pay the fat cow.
10 The guy will either desert them completely and head for south of the border or drink himself to death while listening to suicide solution by ozzy
11 The fat cow will proceed to die of complications brought on by diabetes in her early 50’s while the husband is still getting Mexican poon or he is dead and the children will have deserted her as well because she made daddy leave.
This is the difference between the past and the present for marriage both of them are bad deals however the first one does not give the woman everything at least. And why did women start to get everything in a divorce and why as the focus of marriage shifted to the woman?
