I just found this rather interesting article about this poor guy who never learns. But I guess when you’ve got Christie Brinkley and Elle McPhereson fighting over you then you have more reason than most to swallow the blue pill. And he still makes $2 million a month singing about them. All in all not such a bad deal. But there’s still a lesson here for the rest of us.

I still say he got a better deal than most of us. Though one of my ex’s did inspire me to write this song. Its sung to the tune of (Walking In A) Winter Wonderland. Warning: not for the easily offended!

As a song writer myself I see it as a bit different than being in sports or acting. Some of my best songs came from getting f~~~ed over by some c~~~. Sadly I never made my millions in the process. But if I had it might be worth it. Even if I had to give half of it up for the inspiration.

Which reminds me of a joke where a guy finds a beautiful genie in a bottle. She tells him that he can have 3 wishes but whatever he asks for his ex will get twice as much.

“I want a half a billion dollars”, he says. Boom! He gets it but now the ex is a billionaire.

“I want to be young and good looking!” He is but now the ex is younger and better looking.

I understand what you’re saying about Joel having success through all the failures, but if I imagine his life if he and never married, it seems night and day better.
