How A Google April Fools’ Joke Unleashed The Zombie Apocalypse

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-07-16/how-google-april-fools-joke-unleashed-zombie-apocalypse

I never expected the zombie apocalypse to be so… Commercialized. Though, give how everything else is so commercialized, I should have known better.

At least no one involved has developed a taste for human flesh… Yet. So, I will count my blessings.

From the article, and videos in the links of the article, it seems that smartphones really destroying the intelligence of people by the tens of millions. With the game, Pokemon Go, and GPS, leading millions of people around, like zombies, with their smartphones being their leashes.

The IQ drop of the population is rapidly reaching critical levels.

From some of the stories elsewhere of how this game is leading people into real life trouble. It is like someone fired off the starter gun to the “Darwin Award Olympics”.

For decades, people have complained how video games cause people to not go outside more often. Well, they got their wish. A video game that gets people out of the house, and in doing so, this game has helped to create a catastrophe for everyone involved.

Nintendo and Google maybe making record profits right now over this. But, the lawsuits will be coming. They always do.

Though, the one silver lining in all this, is realizing that situations like this help to comfort and confirm for me that the problem is not me, the probably is them.

You, me, and the rest of those on the MGTOW boards are just unfortunate enough to be born during the “Stupid Ages”.

Yes. I made a Futurama joke. That show was witty.

Now, can someone please wake me up. This s~~~ happening right now cannot be reality.

Some people are so stupid that they want access to prisons, fire departments and police stations to look for Pokemon in them.

It is as if millions of people suddenly went full retard all at once.

At least there was some good news today for Star Wars. The franchise is bringing some of the better characters from the Expanded Universe back to the franchise. I will not spoil “who” for those that are Star Wars Rebels fans whom had not seen the Season Three trailer. But, I will say that move was “genius” in more ways than one.

This Pokemon Go crap is full on full bore idiocy unleased on a huge scale. This is another thing I will steer clear from (pun intended). I can’t relate to the current generation. Modern women modern values modern bulls~~~.

Who else feels that everything is going to crap?

I agree. I just want to steer clear of these fool. This is the level of idiocy that no only gets the fools killed, but those around the fools.

Who else feels that everything is going to crap?

I feel the same way. The only solace is that I know this level of foolishness cannot continue for much longer.

And for the record. I have no problem with MMO and other online games that allow the players to stay in their homes. Because, at least such people are not going outside and literally walking into trouble like these Pokemon Go players.

Seriously though, I ditched Pokemon about the time I was 10.

The only reason I ever got into it in the first place was that’s all the people my age wanted to do at recess (in the mid 90s) is play with those blasted cards.

But it did teach me alot of things about greedy people and corporations, about how fads were stupid and shouldn’t be followed and how utterly weird and obsessive some people were with these things – looking at you guy wandering around with the purple, plastic, briefcase thing, that had “Pokemon Freak” on the front of it…*facepalm*.

Left it behind at the end of the original cartoon and I have no regrets about leaving it behind. Actually, I think this life lesson was just another mile marker on the way to MGTOW road.

As innocent this thing looks, as dangerous it is. So, the game makes you switch on the GPS and data on the phone, maybe sending your locations to servers, I wonder when authorities and advertisers will use that data. And the “lure” feature to set a trap is a genius tool for criminals. And, it is stupid when those animals appear somewhere not public access or dangerous place. And it is said to costs money.

By the way, I appreciate very much that people get out of their room and discover new places, but the game should have been made a lot more safe. I’m discovering new places while bike riding for ages, I know every part of my hometown. Really if someone put me in a random place I’d know where I am.

Today a guy in his early 20s didn’t stop at the red light and almost slammed me and the car beside me because …. yes you guessed it: he had a cellphone on the steering wheel,

By the way, in my home country, it is illegal to have a smartphone in your hand and using it while driving. Even phone calls must have be through headset or through loudspeakers of the car. Or you need to stop. Don’t phone and drive. Not even on bicycle! it is forbidden too, and because one cannot do a sudden big braking on a bike with only one hand, your mass inertia will make the handlebar turn and you fall over. I know this from experience.

There’s even a video where people go looking for Pokemon around the Area 51 perimeter.

I can just imagine people are probably going into an abandoned buildings looking for them too. One of these days someone is going to fall into a deep pit and not be found for a long time.
