There was an article in yesterday’s Hollywood gossip columns, the gist of it is that they expect three of this weekend’s (16-18 June 2017) major releases to be flops, and where have all the customers gone? (It was on Hollywood411. I won’t provide a link, because it’s too much work for me to dredge it up, and it’s nothing but clickbait anyhow.)
Here’s my answer.
1. Boo hoo hoo! Stop sending me boring repetitious junk, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll buy a ticket or two to your next flick.
2. Stop calling me a “flyover” or a “deplorable.” I might not be the brightest bulb in the proverbial chandelier, but I am smart enough to understand that you are really calling me an “enemy.”
2A. Why should I, an enemy, send you money? Really, if you want me to buy your stuff, then talk softly!
3. A backyard barbecue costs about the same as two tickets to your latest boring repetitious junk.
3A. My hard earned dollars (and they are hard earned, perhaps unlike yours) just might be better spent at home.
3B. As an added plus for the BBQ, I don’t need to find a sitter for the kids. They just might be too young to see a raw sex scene in the middle of a murder spree…
3C. As a double plus, all my family and friends can join in. They bring their own beer and covered dishes. Are you really so sure that a BBQ isn’t more appealing to us deplorable flyovers than your latest two hour lecture on political correctness?
4. Nobody likes being lectured on political correctness.
4A. That goes double when the slant is “you, the ticket buyer, are guilty, guilty, guilty.”
4B. And, its corollary, “you are a sucker for buying these overpriced tickets.”
5. Your boring repetitious junk will be on cable or at RedBox soon enough. Time is on our side. We can show your flick (if age appropriate) to the kids on the big screen in the living room, while we grill veggies, dogs and burgers and guzzle cheap beer at the BBQ.
6. See ya in the funny papers! (Oh wait, the papers went broke because they kept sending us boring repetitious junk. Is there not a lesson in that for you?)
7. Lest I forget, sticky floors, funny smells, and loud noises from the screen next door are not, not, inducements for me to return to the cineplex near me.
8. Ditto brats yacking on their cell phones during the quiet moments of the flick. We can get all that at the BBQ.
Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?
RoyDal,
you are returning to the 1950…
LOL.
Old values, good values.
Money better spent at home.
And real life company instead of passive consumption of “pre-programmed” media garbage.
MGTOW style.
In July of 2018, this honey pot forum was sold out to an unidentified NPC sock puppet and troll organization. Most independent thinkers and writers migrated to other MGTOW forums as a result of the never-ending infighting and deliberate trouble starting caused by members who were given "carte blanche" by the admin to do whatever they want. Before my departure, I only left a few thousand cat pics here to comfort and ridicule the feminist owners who now run this place. Their background agenda is to make MGTOW look like a club of losers the public eye. And during the course of 2019, they actually managed to destroy almost all other MGTOW venues as well. Here is the truth about "theindependentman.org" aka "TIM" which was created as an extended workbench to further divide the community. When you register, they install a spyware Zombie cookie on your browser that does all kinds of things the user does not know of: http://www.filedropper.com/essay-on-the-removal-of-malware-cookies-used-by-tim

Anonymous2What do they expect when they don’t want men to go to certain movies? How many times has a woman offered to take any man to a movie? We buy the tickets, concessions, etc. Screw hollywierd!
They complain about pirated movies, but omit how the record industry has had to deal with people recording tunes right off the radio for decades. At least performing artists make most of their money off personal appearances where you can listen to them play live. Now, if an acting troup wants to come to town and do live theater, that’s one thing. But, the movies coming out today aren’t even worth pirating much less paying money to sit in an almost empty theater to watch.

I think most of us agree with Roy Dal.

Anonymous0Hollywood has been bankrupt of ideas for years. NFG, or ZFG as I like to say it.
Update.
I am reclining very comfortably — not all that likely at my local cineplex.
My beloved Doberman is curled up at my feet and snoring softly — impossible at my local cineplex.
I am swilling adult beverages — not all that likely at my local cineplex — impossible actually.
My food prep area and restroom meets my cleanliness standards — impossible at my local cineplex.
Between my toes is my large flatscreen TV — now off, but ready for my next choice of DVD.
Music of my choice is flowing out of the sound system — impossible (to the max) at my local cineplex.
Life is good, and there is no need to drag my ass to a cineplex. It’s all right here, and better than they can deliver.
Besides, there’s going to be a BBQ this coming Saturday.
That’s something we (the Doberman and I) can look forward to!Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

Anonymous6Yep, Ghostbusters is the most recent example. When people know from the jump that this movie is going to be a man hating movie, they are not going to show up to watch it. And who are the biggest movie buyers???? MEN!!!!
Guys raise your hand if you have met a female who hasn’t watched movies that are classic movies that everybody should have seen. Women never watch movies that are good. Ask any woman you know, have they seen Scarface, Godfather, Casino, Jaws, Friday, even the classic horror movies and they always say no. So if women aren’t watching the movies, guess who the film company should cater to?? MEN!!!!!

Anonymous7This thread is all kinds of correct.
It has been well over a decade for me since stepping foot in a movie theater. I cannot find any reason to venture into one again.
BBQ at home and watching A Fist Full of Dollars this weekend sounds pleasant to me. Thank you for my new Saturday idea, RoyDal.
The Cineplex does not have listings for back-to-back Clint Eastwood.

Anonymous148. Ditto brats yacking on their cell phones
Problem solved- (great movie if you haven’t seen it)
And yea, they haven’t gotten a cent out of me for a decade now. Ok, I did see the LOTR stuff in the theatres, other than that, nada. I won’t even buy new dvds nor rent from a redbox…

Plus nowadays, it costs as much to go to the movies as it does to go to a fancy restaurant. I stream all my s~~~ from KODI on my firestick. If it’s free, it’s for me.
They lost me well over 10 years ago.
Last three ‘blockbusters’ that I attempted I fell sleep before Act II.
At one of them, I caught headlice from the seats.I don’t stream, rent, purchase or view Hollycucks’ degenerated programming.
Modern “Entertainers” are generally deviate morals supporters. They can buy their own tickets. and they can go f~~~ themselves.
GoFundYoSelf C~~~ywood.Ah, there are plenty of fat stink-finger green-haired tatted bi-bimbo buyers out there.
Dey won’t miss a meal.with joy/without hate

The industry has damaged netflix the only real hope of dealing with piracy. They over charge for licenses and in the end screw paying customers.
A MGTOW is a man who is not a woman's bitch!
You can also download or stream movies from the internet. I don’t condone illegal behaviour, but on the other hand, i am a deplorable.
I bathe in the tears of single moms.
These days you can get a good enough home theater and flat screen tv for $1000. After a while you won’t notice much difference between a home theater and a giant ass screen which you are viewing from 100 feet away.

it is funny you should say that because one woman I know likes her films but when I mention any older classics it is pretty much certain she hasn’t watched them
if I like something then I will search out older stuff that I might have missed and enjoy it, but women don’t seem to do that
links into their shallow personalities I guess

Does anyone even know what’s supposed to be opening this weekend? I sure don’t.
In fact I honestly can’t remember the last time I waited for an opening to go see a movie. I’ve waited for a few just to see how badly they flopped, and they did (*cough* ghostbusters *cough*), but that’s not the same thing.

Anonymous8Hollywood lost me with their whole “You wouldn’t download a car” campaign, would too.
The entertainment industry as a whole got turned upside down by the internet, the studios & labels were so used to dictating the terms that they refused to work with Napster when attempts were made to transition amicably. They proceeded to file suit, branded all downloaders criminals/pirates & refused to adapt to the new marketplace. I have no sympathy for their losses, which are grossly exaggerated just because a million people download something does not mean they would have purchased it otherwise.
Add the blatant political agendas and new movies are simply not worth paying for with anything but time which could most certainly be put to better use.
