I have found reason to believe I have a bias. It is my intention to present a valid argument that is clear and provides positive reinforcement to the notion that the little guy often does not get the credit he deserves. In fact, it often feels like folks have some kind of bias. This concerns me as it ruins the topic at hand.
Special thanks to J.B Brooks.

Overall notion that Nikola Tesla was the SOLE inventor and genius behind AC power and the AC motor.Who is Galileo Ferraris?

If I asked you who was the inventor of the motor pictured below, the first name summoned by most would be Nikola Tesla Of course. In fact Tesla has been credited with all sorts achievements in the field of engineering. What you might not know, is that this motor below, came about a few years before old Saint Nick.
This original interaction of the device comes to us from the likes of none other than Galileo Ferraris.
Efforts to commercialize the idea historically took precedence. Illustrated in the article here: Westinghouse, G.E. & others in a race to the patent office.
The Physics museum of |v | states that Galileo Ferraris (1847-1897), was the first man who introduced the concept of the rotating magnetic field. The consequent invention of the rotating magnetic field asynchronous motor dates back to 1886, but Ferraris published his idea only in 1888. Two months later, the physicist Tesla patented an identical motor, thus gaining fame and fortune. Most electrical motors in use today are of this type.
Oh Italy. Even the cuisine seems to be shockingly original. (Ask Eric Lauder for translation)

Now you would think that’s all she wrote. But then we go looking into the patent files of G.E. Oh my.. What’s this?
This guy was a MONSTER! Just look at his patent portfolio. Not only that, many of the things we use today to control the motors came directly from him. All 4 feet of the guy.
Now if there was a man that was a true underdog, HE would be it. His story is remarkable.

I hope you enjoyed knowing something knew Today. Levar Burton (who is on this site, I can guarantee it) would like to offer the people of the world some great advice he often forgets himself.
