First of all, thanks for having me.

I only recently found the MGTOW scene.
But, it seems that I have pretty much lived this lifestyle since my divorce some 10 years ago.
Only now I found out this type of living has actually been labeled.

Now in my 40’s, I pretty much tick all the boxes for MGTOW living.

I was lucky with my divorce as things went quite smoothly, and I did not have too much invested in it financially. Basically I walked out with the same amount of assets I had put in. As we had no kids(YAY!), things stayed simple enough to sort out.
Emotional stress from being betrayed by the person you trusted the most was f~~~ing devastating though.

I must say that I really learned my lesson from all this, and all my post-divorce relationships I have ended immediately after first negative/iffy signs have appeared. Has been working really well so far.

Living in a small house that is just enough for me and the dog + all the hobby stuff I need. Driving an older(fully paid) car that I can fix myself. Cooking my own meals save for cheap compensated lunches at the office.

Only thing I can not say that I’m doing is saving/investing a lot of my income. Having expensive hobbies make this rather difficult. Gear is costly, and I also tend to travel a lot.

However, earning pretty well, our government and voluntary pension schemes are pretty solid (at least for now), so when it is time to retire, I dare to trust I’ll be OK. Especially so as I plan on relocating to a much cheaper country immediately after retiring.

So…that’s my simple but very cozy life in a nutshell.
Hardly very interesting to anyone outside of my hobby circles, but works damn well for me.

Looking very much forward to getting more immersed in this scene.

    Cheers,
    B

    Welcome bro

Aloha means family you don't leave family behind. Who will be the next Draconarius for MGTOW? MGTOW = brothers = acceptance = belonging

If you remain unmarried you can live far more frugally. Gear and travel are costly, but not as costly as a wife/child support/attorney fees/etc.

    Welcome to the machine.

    That’s a warm welcome and a half!
    Many thanks guys.

I’m pretty happy indeed. Only problem I find is the built-in desire for the tangible female tail.
As I grow older, that will surely get less pronounced, but meanwhile I’m still looking for a solution to deal with it.
In my part of the world prostitutes come with a premium.

    Getting married again? Very unlikely.
Though, I have made myself a promise of never saying never. Saying “never” seems to jinx s~~~e big time.

Hobbies…well, that is what makes me tick!
Money itself is nothing to me. Just a tool that allows me to do what I really care for.
I personally feel that every person should have a thing or two that they feel very passionate about.

Some rather smart bloke has said “Intellectuals are people who have found something more interesting than sex to fill their lives with.”
Not a straight quote, but you get the idea.

As for some of the earlier MGTOW personalities, please check Miyamoto Musashi, the greatest swordsman ever.
He was a minimalist to the bone and underlined the importance of being able to leave everything behind at moments notice. A bit HC compared to modern world, but he surely had the right idea. Anyway, reading about his actual exploits should be very entertaning to just about anyone. Individualist brute to the bone with a deep artisanal and intellectual sprit. What’s not not like.

    Cheers,

Welcome Barbrossa. The tail, I still seek it too sometimes. I am told it will pass but I’m unsure.

I’ve been living MGTOW for the past twenty-five years but I only found out that there was a ‘label’ for it a couple of years ago.

It’s kinda nice to know that you’re not alone with having that kind of attitude, isn’t it??? šŸ˜€

Miyamoto Musashi has come up before on these threads.

I am like you, i like tail every now and then. I am learning to not resist that feeling, to chase it when it is in front of me, but to always know that it can only bring damage if I chase the same tail more than a few times.

Why don’t you tell us what your hobbies are.

    Let the good times roll

    ^^^It sure is!

^^My hobbies? Well, the one that keeps draining my bank account is shooting and stalking/hunting.
Love for East Asia has proved to be an expensive thing too as I try to travel to the region at least once per year.
