Higher ratio of women in former USSR countries

Haven’t you guys read about the countries like Russia has a high ratio of females in their population? The reason is because males have a low mortality rate due to things like alcoholic related incidences, suicides and diseases. I am guessing that males try to turn to vodka for their troubles to feel good because they are not doing too well with their life because they are not happy or something. I think that it is much harder to be a guy over there then a girl by a long shot.

I wonder how this could be true, ’cause I remember reading somewhere on this very forum that Mother Russia (forgive me my Russian friends for saying Mother Russia, I love the name; plus I learned that from Kick-Ass 2) was one of the only places that weren’t ‘severely’ hit by Hurricane Femsteppoe.

From what I read up, feminism and socialism go hand and hand. The thing is that Russia has a lot of tradcon females expecting their husbands to be their hardworking slaves.

Now if the U.S actually has a socialist government like Russia has right now, do you think that the guys in the U.S. would ever even go towards the direction that the Russian guys are facing? If the U.S. do not let men go to their true potential anymore because of high taxes, I am not sure if the men in the U.S. would be better off since it is usually them who are the ones who are the breadwinners.

Well I’m in Russia, I could tell you a thing or two… It was never called “feminism” here, but the whole concept was the same. The revolution of 1917 gave to women all possible (and impossible) rights, long before most western governments did so. As a result, for example, women’s employment rate in post-soviet countries is still the highest in the whole world. The whole idea of Russia being extremely “traditional” is a lie. It has something to do with people’s mentality, but not the laws and social reality. And by the way, women today are the same everywhere, everyone reads cosmo. And as salaries in Russia are generally much lower, most men just can’t afford the standards of life women desire.

How bad have women become over there that men drink themselves to death.

Thank you for clearing the doubt. We, from the sound of it, Russia doesn’t sound much different than India. Way too low wages for husbands to give their wives the lifestyle the desire; and the men get bitched about it al the time. My next door neighbour is a perfect example. He is a driver and tries to save as much as he can, but his wife insists they should go out every evening to some nice restaurant and have dinner.. and the resulting fight lasts for more than two hours.

There are more males born in every country around the world.

The ratio doesn’t even out until around 50s. And yes it’s because women lead privileged sheltered lives, even in third world countries. The men just die out.

And no it isn’t because they drink themselves to death or that other garbage. It’s because they starve to death and also never get any medical care. All the medical care goes to women as does all the material comfort and most of the food.

Over 65 is mostly women in every country, by a rather large margin. Even in the US.

But really, what’s the point of even mentioning it? Even if there were less used up 50 year old women to go around, what difference does that make? Just why should society pander to them still at that point? Women are given the entire world in their teens and twenties and even through their thirties. Just how much more do they need? If they can’t figure out how to make things work in all that time, they’re not going to figure it out after that.
