We are all being tracked with RFID.

A certain privacy advocate on the radio program “Coast to Coast AM” warned me about this. Since then I have taken care to get rid of such things as soon as I get my purchases home.

The TV show “Mr. Robot” has an iconic scene where he drills the heart out of some of his computer chips and tosses others into his microwave oven. He knows the score!

I have only watched the first video.

The RFID tag the guy is removing is supposed to be removed after the clothing was bought. If you don’t that plastic bag will be scratchy and uncomfortable. It is just a moddern version of the big plastic things that cause the alarm to go off if you steal the clothing.
If you look closely you can see the line that indicates it where you are supposed to cut.

RFID tags in tickets… A ticket you will throw away is not going to be used to track you. At least not via the RFID tag. The RFID tag is what is read by the ticket machine. Much more reliable than a having people hold their ticket infront of a optical scanner (Like those for 2D-Codes or Barcodes).

Also RFID tags (especially those that are supposed to be held directly in front of the reader) have very short range. Unless they have their own power supply. Alternatively the readers would need to work with a stronger output but as that would interfere with phones it is prohibited.

Tracking your phone is much easier and more efficient. Or facial recognition and probably some things I have never heard about.

As I have said already I didn’t watch the other two videos but the first video doesn’t really raise too much concern on my part.

To honest with all the theft on the rise since the late 1990’s this is a great way to catch thieves. In time it will be most products you buy so thieves can no longer get away with it.
