Igot a friend who had a relationship which ended 3 years back but today has had a call from
csa (Child Support Agency) that he has a child with this woman the child is 2 years old he is not on the
child birth certificate and the child he dose not know what to do he lives in the uk thank you for your time have

contact his local Families Need Fathers group and go to the local meeting. Usually they have lawyers there who attend and give free advice on issues like that. dna test will be the most likely first step, but they will be able to tell him how to handle the CSA. As a government agency, they will be gynocentric and anti-male so he needs to make sure he proceeds correctly and covers himself from potential CSA corruption, traps and pitfalls.

If he is not on the birth certificate then it is not his child and he has no obligation to pay child support.

In the Uk you can’t get DNA testing done without the permission of the mother.

but, similarly, if there is no DNA eveidence and he is not on the birth certficate or was married to her at time of conception she is unlikely to be successful.

Whatever he does he must not pay unless they legally force him to. Once he starts to pay they will say he has accepted the child is his. He must hold out for the DNA test. If the child is his he will owe a lot so it is best to put that by from the start but first refuse, then hold out until he knows he will be granted a DNA test. Once he has accepted the child is his they will not do the DNA test without the mother’s agreement. If he has not paid and she refuses DNA after a while they will either succeed in making her or take it that he is not the father but this will be a long process during which they will say he should pay. If they know he is holding out for the DNA test and they have agreed it then he can start to pay rather than be taken to court but he must get it in writing that he will be allowed a test.

I once had it verbal only from CSA that I could have a DNA test. I wrote to my Ex about it at once. CSA rang back later to say they were sorry but since I had started to pay I could f~~~ off and die. By this time I had already posted the letter to my ex. It was not good…
