It was suggested that I introduce myself in a thread I made in the philosophy forum. In the short conversation I had there my intentions had been called into question by more than one person. It seems, as I suspected going in, that much of my philosophy is different from most of those here. But, I don’t see why it is that I should not be here. The qualifications said that I needed to be a red-pill man. By red-pill I assume meaning awoken to the inequalities in law, media and common perception (I’m referring to American perception more than anything) concerning men and women.

It was suggested that I need to prove that by saying something “pro-male”, something for which I’m not entirely clear on the meaning of. But, to guess, simply look at the many “memes” on this website referring to statements of fact as opposed to suggestions for action or simply advice, and I agree with all I’ve read — not necessarily because I want to, but because this is my experience of reality. Furthermore, while I don’t want to speak about myself in detail, I’ve seen first hand the suffering of men I care about due to these inequalities.

I’m not looking to make friends or enemies, nor do I plan on speaking in others peoples threads unless invited or they ask for someone who may have views such as mine. I have no intentions on making personal insults to anyone, nor do I wish to complain about personal insults made to me. Similarly I have no intention of complimenting anyone or thanking anyone for compliments. Also, I’m not here to give advice or take advice. I’m here to discuss ideas, which is why I may focus just on the philosophy forum. I may be persuaded to think differently by a rational argument, and will attempt to do the same.

I’m here to learn about society, and through that, reality in general, through discussion. It’s always flattering to be right, meaning most accurate, and to convince someone of my way of thinking, but such things take a far second to my goal of simply understanding reality accurately.

Well Stuart you grow as you learn. That is a fact of life. And along with that and an open mind you may go your own way in here with us, no sweat.

Most other newbies who sign up on here (usually) spend at least some considerable amount of time lurking (and learning) before posting straight in a topic and in that questioning the core philosophy in here, rather than posting an intro of some sort first. This might have either been a bold move from your end or you simply weren’t aware of this.

But anyway, it’s not to say that you’re not welcome here, but you have to understand that there have even been some few instances of even longer time members slowly sneaking their way in here and only after quite a while later revealing their true selves and their agendas, so in that regard we all kept on learning ourselves in here, too and hence especially of late we have to keep our guards up at a slightly higher notch.

So feel free to post your things and views as freely as you like (and no, you don’t have to agree with everything else that somebody might post in here, as long as you stick to polite and/or common sense manners), but be aware that particularly within the first few weeks or maybe even months you are being watched a bit more closely by everybody, which may or may not diminish down to zilch as time goes by and as you build up your own reputation, which once accumulated still don’t fully hold it for granted (ie. like a woman would)…

Other than that, welcome to the forum and all the best plus patience for your learning process in here.

But like RoyDal said our collective tolerance level is (still quite) high, hence my first diplomatic approach. KM would’ve done it similarly I’m sure.
