I had never heard of MGTOW until a few days ago.  An online acquaintance introduced me to it, and I have been reading the forums.  I hesitated to join because I am a gay man and don’t know if you’ll accept me here, but I feel some sort of solidarity with you guys.  Your stories of becoming MGTOW remind me of the coming out process for gay men.  I suppose I have been a MGHOW since I first became able to support myself.  I always knew that I never wanted to settle down with one person after seeing just about every marriage I ever knew end in divorce.  I have never been happier to be queer than after reading about all the s~~~ that you men go through with women.  Anyway, I hope I can contribute to the community here.

Of course you’re accepted here. Thanks for joining, welcome, and Merry Ho Ho.

Terrific. But I admit I don’t quite understand the need for a “coming out process”. It’s not a stigma to be gay (anymore). In fact, straight white men are not as “auto-privileged” as everyone thinks. They / we are the only class of people who don’t have the luxury of blaming our race / sex / color / orientation when we don’t get a job. We just have to suck it up, and accept we didn’t get that job for the same reason another WOMAN didn’t get it. But try explaining the reverse to a woman.

As a matter of fact, I had my door open about 5 years ago. I live in a big city and a 17/18 year old black kid passed. We started talking, he was going on about how much it sucks to “come out”. I’m like “kid, this is one of the biggest cities in the world. You can be openly gay here. Nobody gives a s~~~.” The “nobody gives a s~~~” part furrowed his eyebrows.

I realize “coming out” is a really big deal (to the gay individual) but I am inclined to think they make a bigger deal out of it than it is. It’s like they want to make a big theatrical production out of it, and if other people don’t make a big theatrical production out of it too, they are disappointed. A post-high school roommate I was sharing a house with once “came out” and told me. “I have something really important to tell you. I’m gay.”

“Yeah I guessed that already. So what.” I think it p~~~ed him off because that was the end of the conversation. Didn’t make any goddam difference.

Like you here, everywhere I have travelled, in every social circle, gays were absolutely accepted. I have never seen the opposite. I was actually at a big street party with hundreds of people around. One girl with GREAT t~~~ walks by, and one of the guys I was with was gay. All flamboyant, he says “SHOW US YOUR T~~~!!! IT’S OK I’M GAY!!!!” and she flashed her boobs with a great big smile.

Are you f~~~ing kidding me? Try that as a straight white male, and watch what happens.

    You get my point.

“Coming out” is more of an ENTRANCE and a yearning to belong and be accepted.
MGTOW is more of an EXIT and not giving a damn about being accepted.
(if that makes any sense – at the risk of over simplifying).

So any apprehension you might have about being here is totally unnecessary.
I hope you’ll kick your shoes off and make yourself at home. Welcome very much.

Wow, you took that much farther than I ever intended.  I was mostly referring to the sense of liberation that comes across in many of the posts here.  I also don’t get the need for coming out.  I don’t do it IRL, but don’t hide it either.  Just thought it was better to be up front with you guys.

Yeah perhaps I just ran too far with it while enjoying some egg nog.
I think it needs a little less egg. And a little more nog.

    Cheers!
