From what it sounds like this kid is simply tired of her s~~~. It obvious he’s witnessed her mental state get worse and worse. Understand, if this kids father won’t pay for her mental state then guess who’s gonna foot the bill? Net tax payers like you and me. Your instinct is correct OP. There is no possibility she will be successful in this. I would be amazed if she can find a lawyer who would even be willing to try because to do so would be to risk sanctions for a frivolous filing. This is so misguided she would even be at risk for sanctions if she filed it while representing herself. It’s pretty rare for judges to award sanctions against unrepresented parties. But if she goes ahead with this and her ex has to expend legal fees to get it dismissed, it’s not impossible that the judge orders her to pay his legal expenses.

Some of the answers might be found in the Divorce Decree. Some Divorce Decrees say you are responsible for 50% of the uninsured medical expenses for a time. Sometimes an ex will file a Motion to Modify/Motion for Clarification. You don’t want to wait until she files a motion for enforcement against you. Get legal help.

Family Courts are often not just or fair. I personally would not be surprised if she robbed him blind.
