Have you guys ever tried Nofap?

In case you don’t know what’s that, it is about quitting porn and masturbation. Though it is focusing mostly on stopping porn. Men and women who have, or might have and addiction to pornography, take this challenge in order to see if they truly have a problem with it and to what extent. There is a website and a forum of it. Personally I am a member of that community, actually I read about MGTOW there, someone had posted a thread about it and I wanted to take a look.

Anyways, from what I’ve seen on the website, 9 out of 10 are men. I’m trying to quit porn about 1,5 years now. My longest streak was almost four months, and the second one, one month, plus there were streaks of seven days every now and then. You might think of it as strange or naive, but I’ve read umpteen threads of men writing about their problem with porn, and I’ve discussed with some of them and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s really an addiction. It causes problems, in the person’s personality, in his sexual tastes, in his relationship (if he has any) etc. From my experience, the period of time I’ve stopped porn and fapping was actually the best I had in years, for many reasons.

So, has any of you ever done this? Have you stopped it even for just some time, like a week or so? I understand that guys here in MGTOW have chosen celibacy, so their only “escape” is pornography. But I just wonder if anyone has tried it.

Actually I did Nofap for about 3 months.

I had two girlfriends though, so I was getting laid 5-6 times a week.

All my life I've had doubts about who I am, where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. And what are you? Alive. There are some who pretend MGTOW are “incels” too (involuntary celibacy) but neither are exclusive to MGTOW. Even young, outwardly attractive women are “incels” but nobody ever calls THEM that.

Innate urges are not something I consciously curb or question…. except yelling at another driver. But there’s classical music for that.

MGTOW doesn’t mean “anti-women” to me. It’s a pro-man thing.
And “no marriage” now becomes pro-individuality, and pro-sovereignty.

So rather than “stopping porn”, I just get into doing something ELSE. How often I ejac is just not a topic for public consumption. But then again, I’m not 19 anymore and I’m not climbing the walls for some titty.

I just think placing any emphasis on “no fap” is over-thinking it.

Yes, I did it for years when I had a PUA-like lifestyle: it did make me pursuing women like a gorilla constantly under overdose of viagra. I just had few planned fappings before few “important” dates.

It’s the dumber thing you can do when you want to have a MGTOW lifestyle, in my opinion.
It’s especially absurd if you want to go monk.

Suggestion: if you want to have a monk lifestyle then use porn that is unrealistic/unrelated with women/avoid heterosexual sex.

There’s no such thing as “porn addiction”, the only behavioral addiction recognized by the DSM-5 is gambling addiction, all other addictions are drugs addictions (including alcohol and tobacco).
And it’s easy to check why they didn’t include it:
“Have you ever been late at work because you masturbated?”
“Have you ever had problems at work because you masturbated?”
“Have you ever had problems/conflicts with some human being as a direct result of your masturbatory activitity?”
If you answered NO to all the questions, then you haven’t problems.

I use the fleshlight every morning as the first thing I do when I wake up, because I have erections when I wake up. I don’t even turn on the lights, I don’t need porn when I do it.

Feminists aren’t glad about that, even if there isn’t porn involved.
