Anonymous14Okay this may sound funny but it’s not(well not entirely) and before I start I would like to thank the guy that created the other topic on paranormal experiences..got the ball rolling.
Now I have had this chronic sleep paralysis problem since as far back I can remember. It triggers whenever I’m alone and trying to fall asleep, I keep waking up with this immense feeling of terror usually from a hallucination of the presence of a unknown entity trying to cause me some harm or just from the anticipation of it.
And after I wake up its nearly impossible for me to fall asleep again since it just keeps happening again and again so I end up spending rest of the night watching TV or doing something on my PC. And it goes without saying the kind of mismanagement one’s life descends into for staying up nights, especially when one finally turns into a full blown insomniac.
Now I live in this house which I inherited and my mom lives with me. She is fully aware of my problem due to the fact she is admittedly responsible for it since she used to regularly scare me to sleep when I was a child with dreadful tales of horror. Now she acts like she is morally responsible for it and has found a perfect solution..marriage. She keeps using that old line on me “What will happen to you when I’m gone?” “You need to settle down” “I know I’m responsible for this so I am going to make sure there is someone to take care of you in my absence”
Hence the name of the topic “Haunted by the ghost of my future wife”
Now for the past 32 years of my life there’s hardly a thing I haven’t tried to fix this nasty sleep paralysis problem but it still persists. Counseling, pets, meditation you name it..everything failed. I’ve even tried some self-psychoanalysis and found that this only happens when I’m alone, but never in the presence of a roommate. In my home my mother’s room is connected to mine and she keeps the door open so I’m fine but when she’s off visiting my sister it starts all over again.
The only other solution I’ve found is to drink myself to a condition where not even the end of the world can wake me. I’ve gotten to a point where I’m sure if I’m unable to fix it soon, taking my own life is the only viable option since to me it’s more practicable than marriage. If any of you fine gentlemen with experience in this field are kind enough to impart some sound advice, it will be greatly appreciated.
The only thing marriage would bring is in a situation like this is that once the marriage is over or the sex goes off and she forces you to sleep in another bed then this s~~~ will start right up again.
So my ideal is that you should get a roommate or find a way to tackle the fear of the problem as in what is causing it?
Just an east coast asshole who likes to curse, If you get offended by words like fuck, cunt, shit, piss, bitch or any racial slurs then you just scroll down.
Anonymous42That happens to me sometimes when the ghost of future events comes knocking, but before the visions can be seen I wake up in a freezing cold night sweat. When I was younger I would sleep through the events and the next day sure a s~~~ it would happen just the way I saw it in detail the night before!
I just live with that tear in the space time continuum that visits me at night, I like waking up!, I don’t want to know what’s going to happen before it happens! It’s much worse than a nightmare, I swear I think my heart stoped! Maybe that’s the symptom of a premonition, perhaps the leap forward makes you think your heart stopped. I really don’t wanna know! I trained myself to wake up!
Have you ever considered a prescription sleep aid ? It may just reduce enough of the static in your brain to allow you to peacefully slip into REM and bring you out of it slower. Just a thaught as I can never get to sleep but have no problem staying asleep. I use them on occasion.
Peace is > piece.

if all else fails…..
stealthys spiced rum.
REMEMBER,
i’d rather have a bottle in front of me,
than a frontal lobotomy !!!
.
good luck!Just as Hitman passed on the buzzword sleep aids.
Currently I actually happen to work one out (on and off) by myself or should I say “invent one” if you will.
Now I won’t get into details about it, since in the end it wants to be my own “revolutionary discovery” as in my original idea (and I will have to do all the necessary work for realizing it myself), but if I can trust you Triklops to not mention the whole idea behind it to anyone, then do send me an affirming TM and I could maybe roughly fill you in about what I got in mind.
My motivation on why to do this actually comes from some sleeping difficulties that I also tend to have from time to time, so once I will have the whole thing finished (it will take a considerable while to get it done first time ’round but then…) I eventually want to test it on myself basically and if it works, I’d surely be thrilled to try to sell it in order to help people for a good night sleep…
I'd rather die a natual death with a clear MGTOW conscience somewhere off the grid than one within "modern" civilisation with a big stress mark on my forehead and a couple of dozen tubes plugged into my body. Back to the plantation..? Me..? Hey, literally: I won't ever fucking kid myself...YZERLMNTSIC
Anonymous1the way I see it, if you say you only have this problem when you sleep alone, and since nobody else mentioned it, what about getting or adopting a dog so he can sleep with you, doing you company?? I think this is a simple solution, and not for nothing the dog is our best friend, just throwing my 2 cents here…
Workout hard in the later part of the evening; ditch all caffeine; and limit Internet time. Screen radiation and light can keep you up. Finally, what time do you wake up? Have you tried getting up earlier, say 5: 00 AM? If you are up earlier, limit caffeine, work out hard, these could have an effect towards helping your insomnia.

Marrying a day terror will not fix a night terror
Anonymous3I keep waking up with this immense feeling of terror usually from a hallucination of the presence of a unknown entity trying to cause me some harm or just from the anticipation of it.
The only way to overcome a fear is to face it.
When I was a kid I used to have these dreams about falling from high places. You can imagine the terror of hanging from your fingertips on a skyscraper.
Then one day I was just tired of being afraid, and I simply let go. Obviously nothing bad happened and I was right back at the top again. Bunt this time I JUMPED, because I knew nothing would happen.
That was the last time I had those dreams. So, you just have to let go of the fear to die… Easy!
The Way of the Samurai is found in death.Meditation on inevitable death should be performed daily. Every day, when one’s body and mind are at peace, one should meditate upon being ripped apart by arrows, rifles, spears, and swords, being carried away by surging waves, being thrown into the midst of a great fire, being struck by lightning, being shaken to death by a great earthquake, falling from thousand-foot cliffs, dying of disease or committing seppuku at the death of one’s master. And every day, without fail, one should consider himself as dead. This is the substance of the Way of the Samurai.

Hey Triklops. You’re welcome dude.
I used to suffer extreme sleep paralysis once upon a time, and every now and then I still get it. Several things bring it on-stress, depression, anxiety and caffeine/drug/alcohol use. And OVER THINKING/AN ACTIVE IMAGINATION constantly.
I used to wake up in the night, to being dragged off my bed by my ankles by an unseen evil force and into the living room. I’d wake up to a horrible, raspy/robotic voice telling me to get out of my room or else. I have seen a black figure at my bedroom door and walk in, while I struggled to move my paralysed body. I even once heard this creepy as f~~~ Native American type chanting in a deep, unsettling voice, and it slowly faded away.
I would highly recommend to you Lorazepam or Valium. Lorazepam is faster acting and more powerful, valium is slower acting but lasts longer. I was on lorazepam and i would sleep like a baby on it. The only problem is doctors are dickheads about prescribing it out on a long term basis, if at all.
Some of the guys have recommended sleep aids. This is a good idea also. The matter of the fact is, you are going to need something to help you get a good nights sleep or this s~~~ will send you loopy, trust me. I used to get stuck in f~~~ed up sleep patterns because of it and it wasn’t good for my health.
One of the habitual things with sleep paralysis is that you fear it happening again and again. You’re subconsciously making it happen repeatedly. It really is a battle against your own mind.
Ask your doc about the meds i mentioned. Also get some high potency magnesium pills.
If you can, try sleeping on the couch a few nights or somewhere else in the house if u have a spare room. I found that i got nervous getting in my bed every night, which is a bizarre notion in itself, but its what happened. Try it, sleep on the sofa and watch a good movie and fall asleep to it. The trick is to occupy your mind with something else.
If the sleep paralysis does happen, don’t panic. I had to learn to not struggle to move and just say to myself “f~~~ it, and f~~~ you, you f~~~ing c~~~ sucker!!!” and let it happen. Its not easy but its what i did and it really helped.
Good luck man.
Anonymous2As stated above the only way I got rid of whatever is in the room because I could never get my eyes open to see it. Is to call to God. It would happen so frequently that as soon as it was felt I would say Lord its back! and it would be gone. One may say its only a dream, but when you wake up and your nomally calm cat is spooked in a corner it seen or felt something that wasnt supposed to be there. That time I left the house for awhile. Just my expierences, take it for its worth to you. Now I welcome it because now I know who has authority over it. God alone.
your mother is projecting. finding a spouse was the answer to all of her problems so she’s prescribing the same solution to you.
i spoke to Muslims in Kuwait about ghosts and they believe in them but don’t fear them. Their religion tells them to command any ghost to “talk to my god” and it will go away. many of my students have told me that it works. This leads me to believe that the ghost was in their heads all along but who knows.
I bathe in the tears of single moms.
This site is the only place I can discuss this topic. As mentioned in a previous thread I have experience of these unwelcome guests as well. Previous commenters have mentioned that the only way to get rid of these interlopers is to call for the help of God. I’m not a bible basher and don’t belong to any church. People don’t know my faith unless they bring it up. You can’t convince someone that there are other realities unless they have personally experienced them as well. I fully understand sceptics who logically beleive that if something can’t be scientificly measured then it likely doesn’t exist. To quote from Star Wars “Do not underestimate the Power of the Dark Side”. To those that have an open mind I can tell you now that calling on Jesus to protect you in these situations is very effective. He is THE BOSS! All demons run from him. Don’t be a smart Ass and disrespect God to look cool and Hip. You never know when you might need him.
It's Time to get Wise
I occasionally have that paralysis you speak of. I have discovered that what works for me is having a goal to accomplish. I found that if I can move my hand to some part of my body such as my knee or my back and pinch or squeeze it I wake up completely. Its funny, I know my eyes are closed but I can see around me. I, too, have had some black shadow or figure in the room with me and even tho my eyes are closed I can still see it. But if I can set a goal and move a hand to some part of my body I wake up and see there is nothing there. I have this even tho there is somebody else nearby.
While killing yourself will solve the problem it will stop you from doing everything else. Enjoying a sunset, watching children play in the park, finishing a project and feeling good about your accomplishment. I think a dog to sleep with you and trying my trick may help. Don’t give up yet. JUST DON’T GET MARRIED. You could try a girlfriend first to see if it would even work. NOT!!! Anyway, Good luck. If talking about it will help, we are here.
Women's brains and vagina have one thing in common. There is nothing in there until a man puts something in there.
Like this topic will come back to this one at a later date . depression but can cause parralises at night.I at one point expiernced it threw the day when it got real bad and ptsd smashed me and made deppresion real bad.Physical pain so bad from it i thought i was dying. For a few months in the time i could move i would top several bottles of water to keep next to my bed and it was a mision just to take a p~~~.That i believe is when your mind will protect your body by an alternative thought of a non reality. But on the other hand i have seen spirits since i was young but rarely like to say .My first one i saw was a indian Navaho lady and have heard of others that have expierenced this. Then when my mum died at a young age i use to see her.was scared.last time i seen my mum was when i was still young and she had all the coulors of the rainbow around her and i was not afraid with a bliss full fealing over me and a smile and she left and crossed over.I discribed to my older sisters and my dad what she was dressed in and the expierence which i found out that was her burial dress.I have had many expierences. If like red pilliable said it might be demonic it will move things .If you believe you are dealing with a bad spirit lay posder around your bed whare you see this and you might find prints if it is powerfull.People that use widge boards are playing with fire. They once were popular and was even marketed like a toy.Do never mess with them.Back in time people never opened with a prayer or shut down with prayer.bad.people would burn them witch leaves the door open. That door can stay open even can travel from another home from a door left open long ago.My believe is that many people are medianistic but don’t know it.We all have it but we all have different capabilities. I tend to think and i am not judging you but i am thinking more deppresion.will add later but if you can give more detail would be good.
THE PLANTATION HAS NOW TURNED INTO THE KILLING FIELDS . WOMAN ARE NOW ROLLING CAMBODIAN STYLE .
Anonymous2I have suffered from SP a lot in my life.
I eventually beat it by learning how to deal with it in a very constructive way. Most people do not understand what is happening to them. Guys…. demons? Jesus? C’mon… the guy is having an issue with his perceptive faculties waking up before his body does!
That tight feeling around your chest? Relax. It’s just your body on automatic superficial breathing. Like you have been doing for hours while sleeping. Your body just isn’t responding to your manual instructions across the board. It can’t. It’s asleep.
Those horrible hallucinations? Relax. It’s just your subconciousness leaking it’s dream-s~~~ into your conciousness. It’s the stuff of dreams, really. The key is to make that dream lucid. Read up on lucid dreaming and apply those techniques to take back control.
You know why you feel like s~~~ afterwards? Because you strained your body to move, to wake up. So relax. Just lie there a bit. Allow the paralysis to resolve on it’s own. If it takes a while… relax. Your perception of time is still off in this state.
Think of it as “augmented reality”. Reality with a dream superimposed upon it. It loses it’s impact when you remember the science behind it. Can you describe what happens to you during an episode.
It’s happened to me a few times, I start praying in my sleep and it goes away, start praying, it could possibly be demonic attack, so I say pray when you feel that happening. I’ve been attacked by demonic entities in my sleep before, I think they try taking advantage when people are asleep and not on guard, if your not religious and don’t believe in that stuff sleep paralysis is what they will call it. Not saying sleep paralysis doesn’t happen, just saying it can be demonic attack, so pray, they hate prayer, I pray the our father prayer, notice how it ends, deliver us from evil, amen.
I can attest to this. Haven’t had an issue with sleep paralysis since I started praying.
Single guys come home, look at what’s in the fridge, and go to bed. Married guys come home, look at what’s in bed, and go to the fridge.......But the best representative of MGTOW is…………… an empty chair,.
Anonymous14Thank you gentlemen, for all the insightful feedback. I might have misled you a bit in the opening post by talking about taking my life, just wanted to make it clear that I’m not suicidal. I was just trying to say that suicide is still preferable to marriage in my opinion.
Regarding faith, needless to say that I keep an open mind. I am in a sense multi-religious like the guy in The Life of Pi.
I’m not a Christian but I do believe in Christ, not a Buddhist but do believe in Buddha(Christ and Buddha are two prime examples of MGTOW imo).Same with the paranormal, my mind is always open to possibilities.
And to quote a line from The Haunting one of my favourite horror movies of the 60’s“A closed mind is the worst defense against the supernatural… If it happens to you, your liable to have that shut door in your mind ripped right off it’s hinges“.
Praying works but its not exactly the permanent solution that I guess I’m seeking.
But what’s happening to me right now is not the work of demons, trust me. I’m pretty popular among my friends on the premise of my ardent tenacity. I’ve spend nights in haunted houses, cemeteries and crematoriums on a dare and came away unscathed and without any incidents.
Even my own house is a mansion I inherited is more than a century old but in pristine condition(needed very few renovations which includes occasional paint jobs and slight repairs, is telling of the quality of building materials used back in the days).
It being so old many relatives and domestic help alike have reported numerous paranormal experiences but I’ve never experience anything, even though I keep an open(but analytical) mind.My own sister told me of an extremely frightful experience she had when she dozed off while reading on a couch in my room, something hauled her up by her arm and threw her on the floor. She said she could even for a while see the imprint of the fingers on her wrist.
But nothing ever happened to me, not when I’m awake atleast. I think this might be more in the realm of human psychology or else I should have in the very little experienced something, especially when I’m so mentally receptive to it. Even if there is a spiritual entities in my house I must say they are really benevolent, well toward me at least.
Some of you mentioned sleep medication, well I’ve tried a few and by now developed resistance to most. The first one was Alprazolam but it was awful, started waking up with throbbing headaches so I quit taking them. Tried Valium next and it was more effective without the nasty side effects but stopped taking them when they stopped working. I generally have no problems with sleep but only when I’m alone I keep waking up every 30 mins or so.
Alcohol does the job but I’m no alcoholic and I drink responsibly so I don’t intend to abuse something I enjoy occasionally.
A friend mentioned pot but haven’t tried it since I don’t smoke but I guess I’m willing to give it a shot some day, just for the record. 😉Working out helps but I had to ease down on that ever since I developed this inguinal hernia on my left abdomen probably due to some extreme workout regimen. Its still pending surgery and I keep stalling on it against doctor’s advice since I’m working on this very important project, nearing completion.
Some of you mentioned fear but that is hardly the issue in this case. I am not that easily intimidated by anything, including the unknown. Its just that the feeling of helplessness that gets to me. For this very reason I dread getting those needle injection shots, the whole feeling of helplessness of letting someone stick a needle up your arm/ass and doing nothing about it.
Even though I’ve never been in one, I wouldn’t hesitate getting into a knife fight(just saying) if someone’s life depended on it and I have the training for it. Been practicing Aikido almost 20 years now and back in school I had a black belt in TaeKwonDo. Did some voluntary service work so also have the training with most type of sidearms, few assault rifles and long range bold action ones.
No its just the damn helplessness that gets to me, just like it is in a marriage where its never a fair fight.
P.S. Had a white lab named Scott once (because he was born in Scotland-no disrespect) and he was the best friend I ever had but had to give him away because of my irregular sleeping issues. Still miss him but I guess he’s happy wherever he is.
