The only thing I seem to like doing anymore is outdoor activities or learning about a certain subject (such as science). Everything else seems like complete and utter s~~~ to me now a days as far as entertainment is concerned.

I’m even becoming indifferent to a lot of the classic entertainment I used to love. Not because I hate them, but because I have an extremely great memory especially when it comes to classic movies. When I was a kid, I remember watching the Back To The Future trilogy so much, that I have the entire script of the movies memorized. So re-watching old entertainment is just boring as s~~~ to me.

I was never much of a gamer and the few games I do play anymore is with my dad when he comes home from work. Otherwise, I don’t even pay attention to games anymore.

But as far as consuming entertainment goes, (such as movies, games, TV shows, anime, etc.) is concerned, I just feel completely indifferent to all of it.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m becoming a cynical asshole to most entertainment as it is, but I just don’t really get any enjoyment from the entertainment I used to love to consume in the past.

If I were to be placed in a rural area alone tomorrow, I’d probably end up getting more enjoyment out of that than consuming any entertainment the gynocentric world has to offer me at this point.

Does anyone else get into these sort of ruts? Because right now, I don’t even know what to do with my time off anymore. Hell, I even find the city I’m in right now to be completely boring.

For movies and tv shows, yeah. There is a lot of garbage out there. I like the comic book movies because I was a collector as a kid through to my teenage years. But I see what’s going to happen to make all the characters “diverse” and I’m not going to pay money to support that agenda. Video games are still good but I don’t have the time for that so much.

Will do. I’ve heard of those books/movies but I don’t think I’ve ever saw them. I’ll definitely check them out.

I do like the classic superhero movies (except for a few) but I can’t stand Marvel or DC anymore. I’ll probably end up watching Suicide Squad online for free to see if it’s any good though.

I do hate the way “Hollywood entertainment” is going downhill though because of SJW c~~~s. It’s one of the main reasons I’m indifferent to a lot of the newer stuff coming out now a days. I know if the first movie isn’t s~~~, then the sequels surely will be.

What kind of games do you like? Thankfully there are still a few games out there that haven’t been saturated with bulls~~~. I find that Abe’s Oddysee is very relaxing after a hard day, though you would need a PlayStation 4 for it.

Or are you a reader? If so, here’s a couple of book recommendations…

    The Wasp Factory, Iain Banks
    Ring, Koji Suzuki
    American Psycho, Bret Easton Ellis
    Ghost Story, Peter Straub
    The Exorcist, Peter Blatty
    Anything by George Orwell.

I would also say the Hellblazer comics of course, but as you can see, I’m probably a bit bias there.

    I don’t know if it’s because I’m becoming a cynical asshole

Trust me, you haven’t seen cynical till you’ve been a cop for a decade. The one time I went to a psychologist for an eval (mandated for reasons you don’t need to know) he was like

“Normal…*page flip* normal…*page flip* normal…*page flip* normal…..*page flip* WHOA…Kind of a cynic huh?…*page flip* and somewhat of an asshole”

That’s right, I have a clinical diagnosis as an “asshole”.

As far as entertainment goes, the best I can hope for is “not as bad as I thought it would be”

Ha, I can agree with that. I’m definitely not to that level yet, but I can tell I’m becoming one all the more as far as entertainment goes.

    American Psycho, Bret Easton Ellis

Less Than Zero by the same author is an ok read as well, I read it in middle school, I think, or 9th grade.

I only watch movies/play games when I’m tired as s~~~ and can’t really do anything else (like at the end of the day). I have all the Super Nintendo/N64 games on my computer and I connect an original controller to it. They’re simple, basic games but provide endless hours of entertainment. S~~~ was a LOT better in the 90’s.

I hate modern games. They’re complicated as f~~~. Combos, a million different buttons to press, and they’re more like a movie than a game. I didn’t buy a game so I could spend hours watching some animated dude talk about his problems.

Back in the 90’s you were just thrown into the game with little to no introduction. You had to figure s~~~ out as you went along. There was no manual, no internet cheat sheet. But hey, there were like 7 buttons to press and there was no such thing as a button combo. It was easy to figure out. At the end of a hard and stressful day, the last thing I want to have to do is be forced to work and learn button combos just to play the damned game. I just want to play it!

If you have a critical and functioning brain at all, don’t let it fester and go to waste on mainstream s~~~. That is simply the burden you have with an active brain. The mainstream s~~~ is for the manipulated.

The fact that you are frustrated is a good sign, honor it.

I am a rabid movie buff. Here is the problem for me, anything made past around 2000 is s~~~. And with every passing day it becomes more and more s~~~. I think that those in control have inserted so much propaganda in movies that they have become unwatchable for the most part. There is some good stuff still here and there but I have noticed for sure it has been a steady downhill slide since around 2k. My favorite movies are from the 70’s and 80’s. The 70’s were gritty and dark… Some awesome movies from that era. Here are some older movies that are a must see that younger people may have missed-

    THX1138
    Rollerball 1975 version
    Logan’s Run
    Omega Man
    Clockwork Orange

I have not paid to see a movie in the theater outside of the Lord of the Rings stuff since about 2004, and I have not paid retail for a movie (dvd or blueray) or paid for a movie online since around 2009. I just outright refuse to fund Hollywood anymore.

Yes, cut the cable and throw away the dish and never view another commercial again .. I haven’t had broadcast tv for almost twenty years.

Getting out and hiking, biking in nature is fantastic and many layers of total enjoyment above sitting and watching the tube.

If you do want to collect some of your own media for rare occasions .. chose only what you want to see when you want to see it. As an alternative to the rubbish that is spoon fed along with nearly twenty minutes of demeaning commercials per hour to people huddled around the tube and linked to the cable or dish – pick out a few gems from the distant past – and completely clear the table of anything that even resembles what is being shoveled out these days as entertainment.

Time to explore some old vintage cult, sic-fi and drama .. on your own terms. It’s like Hollywood over past couple of decades has one cookie cutter mold for everything and doesn’t dare deviate.

I’m even becoming indifferent to a lot of the classic entertainment I used to love. Not because I hate them, but because I have an extremely great memory especially when it comes to classic movies.

    I always prefer concerts*

but, as far as movies go .. let’s go way back .. back to basics. Rebooting the old DVD player with some vintage gold. Low budget stuff is fun, cult is refreshing and old, very old sci-fi is .. creative for it’s time.

There are literally hundreds of examples, but I’d say to get a fresh start .. we’ll begin with an old favorite of mine called ..

In the Heat of the Night (1967) .. a stellar movie cast.

    Vanishing Point (1971)
You want cult entertainment, a little humor and lot’s of refreshingly lower-budget 70’s drama; this is it.

Night of the Living Dead (The Re-make version of 1990) .. actually prefer this re-make to the original in some ways

and a great old horror flick,

    The Unseen (1980)
The cast and cinematography are excellent and you’ll recognize some.

    Carnival of Souls (1962)
Definitely a cult film, much slower paced than you might be used to but the glorious b&w beauty of this one will definitely clear the palate.

*and finally, lets try a classic concert, revisit three that are all jaw dropping in their absolutely stunning excellence, never to be repeated, a moment in time that will be remembered as magical

Zoom Tour (ELO 2001) perfect! (a favorite video of all time)

One Night Only (BeeGees 1997) superb, the definition of perfection!

.. and don’t forget this one, it’s unbelievable
Phil Collins (Live and Loose in Paris 1997) .. way beyond fantastic!

For the most part, yes. There’s always some big agenda they are trying to push in video games. They cave so easily to SJW demands no matter how little or inconsequential they are. And that’s the worst part. Let’s be honest, most women don’t play video games. And if they do it’s not the ones they are complaining about. This is usually very obvious because when they point to one very specific thing in a game, like Tracer’s butt in Overwatch, there are a million other examples to the contrary that have no mention. They would have seen the other examples if they actually played the game, but since they didn’t then they won’t.

However, there are plenty of games I do like, Skyrim, rts games, strategy, tactics, and so on. These games are great for a male mind.

I miss 90’s games as well. I remember when I first got the classic Pokemon games. I spent about a week just trying to figure out how to buy a Pokeball. Now a days, you have forced intros. I hate that s~~~.

Eat, drink and listen to books.

I definitely will. Books are the only form of entertainment aside from outdoor activities for me.

The golden age of Hollywood lacked extreme violence, toilet humor, nudity, cussing and swearing and the special effects weren’t that great, maybe not even in color, but they somehow managed to produce great content despite.

Although I long ago rid myself of virtually anything to do with Pokemon, it was one of the best games on the Game Boy platform. I have the blue version kicking around somewhere from back in the day.

I still have my original GB, black, b&w screen and I’m pretty sure it’s still in working order, despite being ~25 years old.

There were alot of good late 90’s PC games around as well like the early Need For Speed games.

They definitely did. Most of Hollywood movies back then were extremely well done. Compare them to today’s standards, and Hollywood is complete s~~~ at making almost anything right.

I even get more enjoyment out of watching the classic Superman movies than I did the new one with Batman V Superman. That movie was horrible.

It was. I still play it sometimes on emulators. Along with classic Zelda, Mario, Megaman, etc. They were great games for their times.
