Well said. This is a mistake that many people make — chasing “happiness” when they should be seeking contentment. Happiness cannot last, but contentment can.

I don’t know, vrod…….I’m pretty fond of my Acid Roams. I mean I really love those cigars. Plus, I looked up you Tabaks and the flavor description was “coffee”. I like that it’s Nicaraguan tobacco and I don’t mind a maduro wrapper, but I really don’t like the flavor of coffee. If it weren’t for the coffee flavor, I’d try one.

Another one I like, (but nowhere near as much as the Acids), is Trader Jacks. They’re cheap cigars, but the best cheap cigar I’ve ever had with a pretty good flavor and doesn’t leave that nasty gas station cigar taste in your mouth like cheap cigars do. These aren’t your fine, kickin’ back with a drink cigars. These are for when you’re out fishin’ or choppin’ wood or just drinkin’ some beer and you don’t care if it falls to the ground and gets stepped on, but they still have a nice mellow flavor and are a pretty good smoke for the price. I don’t keep them in my humidor with my fine cigars though.

I like Acid Roams also but when I discovered the Tabaks I was sold.
My common day cigar is the Baccarat Rothschild Robusto Maduro. Great little cigar for that unpretentious smoke.

I have 50% blood and 50% coffee in my veins.
But the Tabak is just a hint of coffee, not overwhelming. And the coffee hint goes away after about 40-50% into the smoke anyway.
BTW, the Tabaks come in a natural wrapper as well if you’re not into the Maduro.

I’ll go ahead and order one, but I won’t get my hopes up. I’m pretty picky with alcohol and tobacco. I’ve tried countless brands of cigars and I can only bring myself to pay for 2 or 3 different ones.

I tried to like scotch, but even the real expensive ones do not appeal to me. It all reminds me of creosote. I’m a gin man. My favorite is Seagram’s extra dry. I like it even more than Bombay Sapphire.

I’ve seen Seagram’s gin get great reviews and they always mention that it is very reasonably priced. I enjoy it in gin & tonics as well as martinis. I even use it in bloody marries because I don’t care for vodka.

THe first time I tried Gin was from the Amtrak Bar.

It may have been the first time I have ever not finished a drink. But TRY I DID, I tried something else! I always enjoyed drinking on the train. Cascade Express. What a great ride.

When it comes to trying new drinks, I always ask what the bartender makes for himself. (NEVER HERSELF, that is a MISTAKE)

To many folks seem to just do what everyone else is doing. Drinks, Cigars, etc. That’s why so many people fein class or whatever bulls~~~ they seem to authentically have interest or care about.

Those recommendations seem swell. But there are some things I will always enjoy as well as many others.

Kind of like a great Piano. Or a wonderful old hand crafted car or watch. Machinery as well. THe Russian dude posted something great about some amazing large contraptions used for mining and industry.

Happiness is as hard to define as it is like Air. You know its there, but you can’t see it. You have in your lungs, your tires so you know it’s there. You can hold it in a bottle, you can even feel a breath. But whatever it is, women are not happiness.

Like everything else, it is brought when YOU make it. And just like any kind of machinery, without you, it crumbles if just left to its own.

Women are an odd sort of machine. I can’t even being in explain it. Let Faust or the other dude that has the Wardenclyffe tower explain it. Or even Gravel Pit. They have a penchant for explaining the complicated in a reduced instruction set that’s easy to digest.

To sum it up. I would say Happiness is creation. Even if that creation is destruction. I think that works.
It would explain why Women are so unhappy in a relationship. Outside of creating feelings, action, misery, destruction, and maybe life, (or ending it) Women are strange beasts to a man’s life.

Like it or not, I think I was right that women would be happier if they all had an expiration date when their beauty faded.

As a footnote, for any man that seeks a reason to this dead end life? I really do suggest you go abroad. If Happiness is what you look for, then when you go abroad or travel. You can bring some of that wonder and amazement with you to your home. Or rather where you make your home.

I also have to suggest to Build. Build models, build websites, etc. Just build what you want around you. It does not matter what you build. Just the act leaves you happy. That’s my sleight of hand evaluation. Just stay out of other people building of their own prisons.

Man, this is one hell of a good thread. Time to go make the outside of my home look nice. Wash the cars, and fix a laptop.

The best formula I’ve ever heard for happiness is “Life minus Expectations = Happiness”
I think that’s pretty accurate, albeit hard to follow at all times. But think about it, if you have no or very low expectations, you’re rarely let down. If you go into something with no expectations, anything above the baseline is a bonus. Expectations that aren’t met to our satisfaction are the chief reason for our frustration and unhappiness.
My point is that a woman is never going to live up to your expectations, not by a nautical mile.
But a good scotch, or drink of your preference, and a good cigar always will. Enjoyed in peace on your terms.
That’s happiness.
