This article goes into great lengths regarding people who don’t have enough money to live on in retirement. According to the article almost half of single retirees don’t have enough money. They look at a bunch of factors including where you live, but what I found interesting is what they didn’t look at. The sex of the single person.
Call me cynical but I would think that most of those retirees that didn’t have enough money are women. Of course there is no way to know, but I’ve got my hunch.
Order the good wine
I’d also bet that most of them are women. The very last part of the article talks about Social Security falling short. Probably the main reason it falls short is that many women in that age group didn’t enter the workforce until very late. Usually they were probably forced to after squandering the ex’s money that he earned. When the husband was no longer responsible for her due to alimony ending or death she was forced to get a job when she was close to retirement age. As someone said in a post- “All you have to do is look at who is taking your order at 3 AM at Denny’s”.
When they leave out an important piece of information in just about any article it’s pretty obvious why. It doesn’t fit the agenda/narrative they are looking for. If I was to put money on it I would bet that at least 70% are women.
If these people have been working 40-45 years and still can’t afford the basics in retirement then they have made some seriously bad life choices along the way.
Any way the casinos and bingo halls have more than there fair share of the elderly.
The greatest tragedy in life is to spend your whole life fishing only to discover that it was not fish you were after. - Henry David Thoreau

Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.

I ended up at 40 losing the house, living with my parents and having a few thousand pounds in the bank. My ex wife on the other hand ended up with a five bedroom house with detached garage and a brand new car on the drive. Not a bad lifestyle for a part time job paying £25K a year!
I immediately started saving every penny I could, it is amazing how little you need to live when you don’t have a constantly bored wife trying to spend every penny. After three years I had saved enough for the deposit on a little house. Nothing flash, just somewhere I could live cheaply and have no worries should the s~~~ ever hit the fan. I currently have zero debt aside from the mortgage.
I have kept up the saving/hording of money and now have a years salary in the bank cash. My aim over the next seven years is to save enough to pay off the mortgage, and this ties in with child support ending. Once that happens every single penny I earn will be saved as I will have zero debt. What annoys me is if I had never got married and had saved like this since I started working I would be retired now at 46.
But everyone else seems to be financing to the max, lease cars, latest iPhones, massive mortgage, gym membership, credit cards etc. I really don’t see how any of these people can ever retire, especially as they are used to a certain lifestyle.
Me on the other hand, I love my £1200 car and how it owes me nothing. My £200 Huawei phone is great and I really want for nothing. That years cash in the bank gives me a warm fuzzy feeling and I know how little I can live on.
There is a massive retirement time bomb looming, the boomers had it all in place, cheap houses, lots of inflation and index linked pensions. Anyone 50 and under is in for a hard lesson come retirement if you ask me.
For women, everything eventually boils down to Alpha Fucks, Beta Bucks.

The ones who aren’t women probably got divorce raped which forced them into that position. Any woman who is “retired” and lives OK probably divorce raped a man to attain that status.
I just realized that the term “retired woman” is BS. A women retires once she gets married and/or divorce rapes her unsuspecting husband. There is no such thing as a woman who truly retires by working and earning her way into retirement. Silly me.Feminism isn't about equality with men, it's about leverage over men.
In my work I have nothing but retired clients. The poorest people I see are divorced women. The alimony is long gone as is the child support. The social security check is the only thing between them and the street. I don’t see many single retired men, A few elderly widowers. As I well know older single men become a hot property. The ones I do know do well. They live on very little and have reserves in the bank. Some of the wealthiest men I know are those who never married in the first place.
Those couples who stay married since they were young all seem to be the best off.
